Radio works fine but won't read the cd. Display screen shows ER08.

I've had a friend to stay who had this problem. I downloaded the user manual from the internet and the error code is not mentioned. I followed the procedure to reset the radio and this solved the problem.
Take the cover off the stereo and locate the small hole (towards the centre) which houses the reset switch. Insert something like a paper clip into the hole and hold for a few seconds. Then replace the cover and all should work. You'll loose all the radio presets.

I had the same problem, the cd refused and radio plays good, with JVC KD G321. I have disconnected the switches behind the radio and also disconnected the antenne (do not forget the antenne) and it played the cd again.

if you can remove the radio, you can try cleaning the laser lens, or possibly take it to a shop where it can be professionally cleaned. you can sometimes clean the laser with a qtip and rubbing alcohol if you can remove the top of the radio and can find the laser lens. the laser lens will be a bubble shape piece of glass inside the cd mechanism. be very gentle while cleaning the lens.
