SOURCE: 2004 GTO will not eject

I just had this happen the other day. It completely jammed up. I ended up having to remove the radio and disassemble the upper changer section to get the disks out. The problem with mine was that one of the disk trays broke and jammed the mechanism. I ended up gutting the changer and and reassembling the radio and installing it in the car to use the AM/FM function. I'm currently in the search for a new radio to swipe the CD changer off of since even radios that you do not have the security code for will work as the coding is in the radio section and not the CD changer. The changer attaches to the top of the radio with 2 T8 and 4 T10 screws and connects with a ribbon cable between the two modules. You'll see the ribbon cable when the top CD changer mechanism. Be careful removing CDs this way as if the player's rotating assembly is not retracted, it is very easy to scratch the disk. Unfortunately I lost a Velvet Revolver disk this way. Good luck! If you are on one of the the big boards I go by TR GTO on both if you need to contact me and I'll walk you through it.

Hi names Rui, i question for you does your PC give a beeping sound when you turn it on? if does can you tell me how many beeps it gives?

if it give a designated number of beeps this might be the problem i will give you a chart so you can differentiate the warning beeps you hear.

warning beeps:

1 Short Beep DRAM refresh failure
2 Short Beep Parity circuit failure
3 Short Beep Base 64k RAM failure
4 Short Beep System time failure
5 Short Beep Process failure
6 Short Beep keyboard control gate A20 failure
7 Short Beep Virtual mode exeption failure
8 Short Beep Display memory read/write test failure
9 Short Beep ROM BIOS checksum failure
10 Short Beep CMOS shutdown read/write error
11 Short Beep Cache memory error
1 long, 3 short Beep Conventional/Extended memory failure
1 long, 8 short beep Display/Retrace test failed

hope this will determine the problem if none of this warning beep is heard try reseting the power botton in you PC cause sometimes the power botton will loosen cause of continuous use of the botton.

hope this will help you.

Cd are stuck can not eject and cds will not play can hear motor trying to delete but it wont happen

Have you tried to unplug the unit. And leave it unplugged for about 10 minutes. If it is mechanically jammed this will not help. But if it is the firmware that is scrambled, then this will reset it. If it is mechanically jammed, then you might try tipping the unit on the back, then try ejecting it from that position. I would try clearing the firmware by unplugging and leaving for 10 minutes first.

My jvc player rejects my cds when I put them in. what do I do?

Hello,
The mechanism that controls opening and closing of the tray is bad, that is why it keeps ejecting cds when inserted in.
Unplug the player and unscrew it open then plug it after opening the cover and try to insert a disc and see the how far the cd goes before ejecting, be sure not to touch any metal part in the player to avoid shock.
After trying to play a cd, you will notice where the tray ejects the cds from, it is located try to unplug the player and disassemble the mechanism, you will see either a worn out rubber or teeth on the mechanism, then replace them and reassemble it back together, after doing that, the player will be able to hold a cd.
Take care and good luck

The tray of cds does not work properly, does not allow the change of disc to disc and stuck

Try pressing repeatedly the eject button while you turn on the unit. If this doesnot work
then it is a mechanically problem in your player .

You need to manually open to take out the cd .

The rubber thread which should be connected to the motor inside the cd player might have moved from its place.

You need to place the rubber thread to proper place.

Also if the belt is slipping, the mech never gets the "drawer closed" signal, and the disk will not spin.

Cd player wont eject

You can try pressing the reset button on the display, it is a very small indented button that you need a paperclip or something smaill like that to press it. This is the only user action that can be done.

Do you hear the cd mech making any noise at all (gears trying to turn, motor running)? if not, you may have a supply voltage out for the cd mech, bad ribbon cable, defective loading motor, or one of several other possibilities.

If you hear something trying to happen, it will most likely be a jammed up mech. There is a plastic piece inside the mech that is very difficult to get to that may need to be replaced or at least re-aligned.

If you are not familiar with these type of mechs, you really should not try and fix it, you will most times cause more damage to it.

sorry there was not better news for you. let me know if resettng helps or if you feel you can fix it yourself, I would be glad to offer more help.

Cd ejects

New CDs may have some rough spots around the inner and outer edges. If such a CD is used, this unit may reject the CD. To remove these rough spots, rub the edges with a pencil or ball-point pen, etc.
