Mge galaxy 4000 - after closing Q4S the static switch will not turn on and the alarm "AC BP SS supply fault" comes up right away. the SS SCR's and gate drive board are ok. where could my problem be?

I can run the ups on inverter but i can not establish static switch bypass. could this be a problem with the main processor board? or a specific board in general?

This is a commun problem with this unit, you need to replace the static switch but it will cost you more than a new system, get rid of it.

SOURCE: I have a MGE Galaxy UPS and it's giving me an intermittent alarm saying "INV. NOT. SYNC./ AC.BP".

Dear Yared,
The alarm is pretty clear about what is going on. It's a syncing issue between the inverter and your bypass supply.

What you can try is to go to the 'Command Screen' of the UPS and select Resynchronize AC BP.

Best regards,

Ron

Make sure that Bypass Phase Rotation is A-B-C. Check that Bypass voltage is within a tolerance of 208 +/-5%. Frequency tolerance is 60hz +/- 1hz.
Any condition not met, and Bypass will not be available

If you cannot do a reset of the internal fuse system and get it operational, then check the internal battery for continuity. If they all fail, then the AC/DC transformer has blowen.

Is the UPS in Bypass? Is the Inverter running? What alarms other than that code are on? Have you shut the unit down. Its best to call MGE, that unit requires to have software to work on it. Even though you find the problem, and replace the board, the Board needs to be program to that unit. YUP! This way MGE always makes money on the UPS's no matter where and no matter how old the UPS is. They lock you out. Which is unfair for the customer. The customer has no choice but to call the dealer to fix it. Trust me.. Then again when a customer buys a product, isn't it his for life? Why can't he fix his ups or hire whoever he wants besides the Manufacture? Wrong, NOT WITH MGE Products. I guess it's Job Security for MGE. That one positive thing.

Hello, our MGE GALAXY 3000 20kva, front panel display is frosen. UPS still operates but not able to use any buttons to see ups status. Also alarm states "internal communication fault". Would appreciate...

you need an MGE expert engineer to check on the internal components, maybe the display by itself it dead can be replaced while UPS is on no problem. if you want to switch off the UPS you go for force shutdown but I cannot guarantee will restart if you do not fix the fault.

MGE Galaxy 3000 UPS, do i require to reconfigure the ups after battery replacement? Thanks.

No you don't have to reconfigure the UPS after battery replacement. However you may have to reset the battery Timer. There are 4 possible ways.
1. Press and hold the fault reset button for 3-5 seconds
2. Press and hold the fault reset and security key simultaneously for 3-5 seconds
3. Press an dhold the fault and alarm silence buttons simultaneously for 3-5 seconds
4. Cycle the logic Power. This means to remove power from the main processor.
5. Call MGE. They have the software to reset the battery replacement alarm

This is Easy,

MGE software is exclusive to them, they do this so that in the event the UPS needs any work you have to use them for remedial work, the problem is because they hold the monopoly they charge through the roof for parts and labour. you will need a factory trained engineer to turn up with a laptop to switch off the "Maintenance Alarms" I have an engineer that has the Software and availabilty to parts and we are much cheaper than MGE direct.
