I've had my Dare about a month & this started happening.
I dial out via a Contact & after the call connects, the screen intermittently goes blank. It won't come back, with me touching the screen, or touching any of the buttons on the side.
Telu exchanged the phone for me, but the replacement one is also now doing this.
I'm suspecting a settings problems, but can't figure out what to change.
It's especially a problem when I'm dialing a call that has a vocie-mail or numbers(you know, press 1, press 2, etc)as, since the sceeen is blank, I can't do that.
Might it be to do with the phone's acceleratometer(ie-- if I dial with the phone vertical, horizontal, etc ??)
Hitting the lower right button simply ends the call -- it doesn't bring up the dial pad/speaker screen menu....
Any idea what the problem is, or what I've set wrong ??

While the screen goes blank, does it drop the call? Are the handsets fully charged, or are they on the charging dock whenever they are not in use?
The batteries may need to be replaced. Bad batteries can in some cases cause the phone features to not fully work. They are located in the back, bottom of the handset.
Open up Internet Options (from the Tools menu in IE or right-clicking the desktop icon and selecting Properties, or through the Control Panel). On the Connections tab, select 'Never dial a connection.' When you want to connect to your ISP you will be required to manually start the dial-up connection.
Whoever your cell phone provider is, you need to contact them and notify them of this problem. This is a common problem with Touch Screen phones. Call them usually by dialing *611 from your mobile phone and ask for a replacement phone. Their own tech team may try to do a master reset on the phone, but to me it sounds like there is an internal issue. Seeing as you have problems calling from your touch screen you may want to email them or use a landline phone to reach someone. If you need any help let me know!
