I"m guessing it's the TV, chances are it would loose sound as well if it was the streaming service. Are your backlights staying on when the screen goes black?

Ebay lamps can cause this as they are not originals also the balast supply, is gas discharge type, can fail.

check your closed caption, long time ago there were 4 cc options. Turn it completely off, that might get rid of it.

The half picture is a verticale problem. This is difficult to repair. Send to a repair shop.

can you post the model number of the set? Also is the picture going out to a black screen or a colored screen. Please elaborate if possible and I should be able to help you.

this unit will have what is called ik protection wich means that the picture tubes are constantly monitor with this system all the way to the video procesor so the picture will desapear to a black screen even if the audio is ok,there may be a solution if contract a tech like me to adjust the bias so that compensates the drives to the pictures tubes since 1 or the 3 pt are week at this point.
