The electricity went out and when all power was returned the vent lights or fan will not work. All circuit brakers have been checked and everything else is working fine. Is there a way to reset the hood? The light on the time is lit and reading "0".

According to Jenn-Air (Maytag) if you remove the power from the hood for 15 minutes it will reset the board. So depending on how long the power was out the outage would have done this. There is a good possibility that the outage ruined your board.

I had the exact same problem - I was flipping through some circuits the other day while working on an electrical project, and now my range hood is dead. No lights, no fan, nothing. There is a figure in the display window, so I know the power is definitely on, but it won't do anything.
I just tried shutting the power off for 15 minutes, turned it back on, and VOILA ... everything works perfectly! Thanks for the great advice - you saved my day!!!
