Question about Jenn-Air JXT8836ADS Kitchen Hood

1 Answer

How to reset my Jenn-Air Jxt8836ADS kitchen hood?

The electricity went out and when all power was returned the vent lights or fan will not work. All circuit brakers have been checked and everything else is working fine.  Is there a way to reset the hood?  The light on the time is lit and reading "0".

Thanks,

I had the exact same problem - I was flipping through some circuits the other day while working on an electrical project, and now my range hood is dead. No lights, no fan, nothing. There is a figure in the display window, so I know the power is definitely on, but it won't do anything.

I just tried shutting the power off for 15 minutes, turned it back on, and VOILA ... everything works perfectly! Thanks for the great advice - you saved my day!!!

According to Jenn-Air (Maytag) if you remove the power from the hood for 15 minutes it will reset the board. So depending on how long the power was out the outage would have done this. There is a good possibility that the outage ruined your board.

Unplug the unit from the power and leave for about 2 hours Then try the door. Cycle interruption can cause the door to remain locked. Check what other items are on the same circuit. Jugs kettles tv frypans etc. Have an electrician divide the circuit to reduce the amperage load on that particular circuit to save repeats of this event.

Turned on light switch and there was a click from the unit and neither the light nor fan work now

Hi,
Either there is a bad connection in the fan/light or the circuit braker tripped...there is no fuses or circuit breakers in the unit...
Pull the fan apart and check for power there and if there is non then check the circuit breaker..

the next thing for you to check is your main power circuit breaker if you have one side of the breaker is bad or weak this will cause a power failure.also make sure the wiring to the terminal block is in good order and not damaged.the terminal block could have a problem as well.

No power on kenmore range

Make sure there's power getting to your range, oven or cook top. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power with a voltmeter or by plugging something else in.

If everything above is ok, move on to the power cord junction point. make sure the power cord has not separated from the junction point on the backside of the unit.
