Diverter I have had this faucet for 6 years and suddenly there is very low water pressure from the side sprayer. I removed the sprayer head and there is still low water pressure from the hose. Do I need a new diverter?

Hi! Yes it sounds like the spray diverter needs replacing. Kohler .com will have this part online or you could try a plumbing supply shop.

SOURCE: leaking diverter valve

is it a kitchen faucet or a tub faucet? if it a kitchen faucet it will be a cartridge issue, if it is a tub faucet it could be as easy as a o-ring or a separate cartridge. in any case the cartridges are usually in the main part of the handle and you usually have to take apart the faucet. i know this may sound funny but make sure you turn off the water to the faucet, you would be surprised how many people try to fix this with water on.

American Standard Kitchen Faucet Low water flow

I had the same issue with an American Standard faucet that I installed new 6 months ago. The diverter can be the issue if you have a sprayer attachment. Try unscrewing the sprayer head from the hose it's attached to. Now run the water full pressure with the hose pointed into the sink, obviously :~). After running the water for about 1 minute, connect the sprayer head back onto the hose, make certain the flat rubber washer and ring gaskets are seated in their grooves properly, and tighten until you have no water leaking from the sprayer head/hose connection. Now try the water through the faucet. If the problem was a temporary diverter issue, your pressure should be fine now. Good luck

I have a ca87629csl two handle kitchen faucet with a side spray and I have extremely low water pressure coming out the faucet even with the screen taken out. I think or know that debris in the line has...

If the faucet is plugged AND the sprayer also seems to be plugged, the problem is probably in the diverter valve that controls the water going to the faucet and sprayer, see URL link below. Need to find a way to clear the valve, most likely by removing the faucet neck and cleaning and the reassembling. Prior to doing that I would remove the hose connection and try blowing back through the faucet to see if you can get something out of it.

Please contact me if this does not work. More things you can do, but they are pretty drastic.

Low water pressure from faucet, but plenty of pressure in water lines.

1-Remove aerator from end of faucet spout to check to make sure it is not obstructed by anything. Grit builds up there and causes flow to decrease , but it can be taken appart and cleaned out.

2-If you have a sprayer attachment to it sometimes the diverter goes bad. This sends water to spray head.

Cut water off remove handle with allen wrench and loosen collar on top to gain access to remove spout. after removing handle and collar you can pull up on spout or work it side to side easily to remove it.

In the middle at the bottom it has a removeable diverter that can be removed and replaced.

If it comes appart it will restrict water flow.

3- If you have to remove faucet to make sure no obstructions any where esle.

I hope this may be some help for you to have a starting point.

Why do I have low pressure on sprayer and still have water coming out of faucet when I am spraying.

Get the replacement parts in about 10 days FREE from PP. Call 800-732-8238. The flow is the diverter tee. I had the cartridge and aerator replaced. And then I replaced the diverter tee. I ordered the parts on a Saturday; got them the following Saturday. Below is a video to remove the diverter tee. The video is helpful, but doesn't tell you about the other 2 connections. The "spout" connection and the connection to the right (the "t" part) is simply a wiggle off. Then after those are off (with lots of water coming out - get towels ready), then you can crawl back from under the sink and get the sprayer off. The sprayer procedure is in the video (push up/in hose) then pull down gray collett. These faucets were discontinued in 2005; a plastic disconnect is now available for newer models. Also, we had to replace the cartridge and the aerator to keep it from leaking out of the handle. The problem we originally had was not having equal pressure with the faucet and the sprayer. The faucet would be running and then the pressure would go down. The sprayer would be weak when the faucet was on - never getting full pressure from the sprayer, just a trickle. It was "moody."

Removing Diverter/Quick Connect:
Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting Price Pfister, here is a link to a video that will guide you through the steps on how to either remove the quick connect or the diverter.

You can go to PP's website and see and "Exploded View" of the model you have. If in the model number it states "XX" that is the finish - for example, mine states Marielle Kitchen Faucet "26-3NXX" The "3" is the number of holes (put a 4 in its place for 4 holes). The XX is SS for Stainless steel - even though it's chrome.

Sprayer leaking from inside handle mechanism

although it is possible that the spray head has gone bad, it is more likely that the diverter mechanism inside the kitchen faucet needs replaced. When this part is defective, it allows full pressure from the faucet to go to sprayer head even though the sprayer is not triggered. The sprayer is not designed to handle full pressure when it is not spraying.

Delta Faucet (Series 2467) Sprayer doesn't work

Yes, the diverter assembly is probably corroded or clogged shut. Garunteed its the problem on a 10 year old delta kitchn faucet. The diverter routes water from the spout to the sprayer when the sprayer is triggered.

Delta kitchen faucet mixed spray...diverter problem???

No a pull out sprayer problem is different.

First try this. Pull out the sprayer and remove from hose by turning nut that connects sprayer to hose. If you can get someone to help you it would be nice since the hose can go down into the faucet and might be trouble to retrieve. Look in the connection on the sprayer where the hose connects and look at the screen. If the screen is plugged or dirty clean and reinsert. If you can't clean it replace it. If this isn't working go to the next suggestion below.

In the spray head of the faucet there is a build up of deposits from use and or water hardness. Here is the link to the Delta site.

Delta Faucets

If you find you faucet model order a new spray head. Once these go bad they usually need replacing.
