"Mel's video of the day" plays the video but no sound and no speaker icon or slider at the bottom of the window. Used to work.
You might be having an issue with sound drivers. Try to fix it using Windows System Restore. If it doesn't work, Right click Computer icon, select Properties, then Device Manager. Under Sound Video and Game Controller (or any Unknown Device), check to see if there's any device that's having a conflict (or disabled). If it's disabled, simple enable it. If it's having a conflict, Right click then select update drivers. You might need to obtain the original driver cd that came with your computer. Please send a feedback if this works for you. Thanks.

Go to control panel --> system --> hardware >> device manager.
If you have problem with driver, there will be a big yellow question mark in your "audio controller". If there is problem, you have to reinstall your audio-driver.
If it is ok, then back to control panel -->sounds and audio devices. In tab "volume", you can see if your system might be "mute" (do uncheck box of mute). And if your volume icon is not in the taskbar, do check the checkbox of "place volume icon in the taskbar".
You can also modify the speaker performance here.

Simply solution is delete your

As
you are dumping your cookies, you should also erase all your

I should have mentioned that Windows sounds and Music CD or music files from my PC play fine.
I have already reloaded the codecs for my system.
Problem was solved by downloading Adobe Flashplayer.
