I had the same issue and uninstalled it, cleaned up the registry, re-installed it numerous times and still nothing. Then I changed the compatibility for the .exe to Windows 98/Windows Me even though I am running XP and it started up.

CLEAN INSTALL needed here.
Try uninstalling again, but this time after the uninstall, shut down completely for at least 30 seconds, and then restart.
Then do a search for 'all files and folders' - search for both Photo Explosion and then  OnDemand, with the options "Search system folders", "Search hidden files and folders" and "Search subfolders" checked. Delete all of those files found.
You should do this search and delete whenever you uninstall any programs. It will remove lots and lots of leftover junk files taking up room on your hard drive. It will also give you a "clean install" when you reinstall or install an updated program. (Do this ESPECIALLY when updating to a NEW anti-virus programs and “Internet Security Suite” programs such as McAfee or Norton etc.)
BEFORE RE-INSTALLING Photo Explosion Download and install "Registry Mechanic" then do the updates prior to running it and removing anything for the first time. This will get rid of all your current Registry errors, prior to installing or reinstalling.

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. Have you tried running the software in Compatibility Mode? Depending on your version of Windows 7, you may have the ability to run it in Compatibility Mode. Try right-clicking on the Photo Explosion shortcut that is on your Desktop. Then, go to Properties from the pop-up menu. Then, select the Compatibility tab. On that tab, put a check next to "Run the program in compatibility mode for:". Then, select Windows XP SP2. Click on the OK button to save this setting. Finally, try launching the program again.

If you have questions please let me know. Thanks for using Fixya.

MPEG VIO Driver Error photo explosion special edition 3.0

How to correct a Load MPEG VIO Driver Error in Windows Vista.

If you are experiencing this issue with Windows Vista, please follow these directions:

Note: These steps are only for Windows Vista. If you are experiencing the problem on Windows XP, please see the directions found here: KB Article 1469

1. Uninstall Photo Explosion 3.0.
2. Reinstall Photo Explosion 3.0.
3. Restart the computer.
4. Download the Vista update for Photo Explosion 3.0 from the following link:

http://www.novadevelopment.com/Support/Updates.aspx

Note: Please make sure you download the correct one for your version of Photo Explosion 3.0. If you have the Deluxe version, download the Deluxe update. If you have the regular version, download the non-Deluxe update.
5. Save the update to an easily accessible location, such as your Desktop.
6. Once downloaded, go to where the update was saved and double-click the update.
7. After installing the update, you should no longer experience this problem.

Note: It is extremely important that you do not run Photo Explosion until you have restarted the computer and installed the update. If you run the program before installing the update, you will need to start the steps over from the beginning.

This comes directly from the Nova FAQs. Hope this helps!

PHOTO EXPLOSION DELUXE 3.0

Try to uninstall it restart the computer and reinstall it.

I reccomend "revo uninstaller" for uninstalling in "moderate" mode. Revo uninstaller do find more left over files for uninstalled software.

Hope that will help, otherwise return here .

Installing Photo Explosion Deluxe

Did you look in C:\Program Files\Common Files folder?
Some programs will place shared files in here.

If that does not work, download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility from:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

Install it, then run it from Programs. If you see either of these programs have the utility remove it.

Ulead Photo Express has stopped working

So, the problem: Ulead Photo Express suddenly stops working, uninstalling and reinstalling makes no difference; and yet it still shows up as running in the task manager (probably as IPE.40 or something similar).

After 2 months I FINALLY found a solution and thought I'd come back here to share it, in case it helps anyone else. ;)

(Btw, this may be specific to Photo Express version 4.0, but could still be worth trying for 6.0 or Photo Explosion as well).

According to this page on the Corel forum:
http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=14912 There seems to be a conflict between Photo Express and 'K-Lite Codex pack'. If you've recently installed it, or any other image/media viewer on your system try uninstalling, restart, and then seeing if Photo Express works.

Or if your computer has just come back from the shop after a reinstallation, and photo express won't work on it anymore, check to see if the tech guys there 'helpfully' installed anything on your system that might cause the clash - that's what happened to me. I found the k-lite codec thing, uninstalled it, Photo Express worked just fine at last.

Hope that helped a bit!

Error msg 1335

Please try this. It worked for me. If you are on Windows XP, this can normally be resolved by setting the compatibility mode for Photo Explosion to Windows 98. You can do this by following these steps:

1) Click on the Start button.
2) Click on the My Computer. This should open a window titled My Computer.
3) Double-click on the C: drive.
4) If the information is hidden, there is normally an option to show the hidden files/folders. You will need to select this option.
5) Double-click on the Program Files folder.
6) If the information is hidden, there is normally an option to show the hidden files/folders. You will need to select this option.
7) Double-click on the Nova Development folder.
8) Double-click on the Photo Explosion folder.
9) Right-click on IPE40 icon, which looks like a camera.
10) Select the Properties option from the bottom of the pop-up menu.
11) Click on the Compatibility tab.
12) Put a check in the check-box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for".
13) From the drop-down list, chose "Windows 98 / Windows Me".
14) Click on the OK button.
15) Reboot your computer.
