no most elements should last longer between 5 and 8 years the element in my oven is over 9 years old if it is burning out you could have a short somewhere
Try setting clock before presuming board is faulty, ovens shouldn't work if clock is flashing or timer is counting down or bell symbol flashing. Consult your instructions
Take a look at the element ( the "tube" inside the oven that glows red hot when the oven is turned on). If the element is burned out it will not be hot and glowing. You may have a loose connection to the element but most likely it is burned out and needs replacing. Our stove is 27 years old and I have had to replace top or bottom elements every 6 years or so. I just bought a replacement element at Canadian Tire in Calgary for about $34. Just undo the 2 screws around the element and attach the new element to the old wires. Good Luck -I hope this works for you
check that tthe cable connection to the elements is ok and not burnt and that the power is at this terminal, if present then change the element and if absent then check and change the the thermosatrt
we had a repairman come and he opened the electronic control panel and hit the "reset" on it and it worked after that. hope this helps. these ovens stink.
