Tried taking batteries out switching off the phones and still not receiving all in coming calls our phones are bt6500 please help

These phones are designed to at least silence some "spam" phone calls. You should be able to alter some settings. You can reset the phone so that it and its answering machine capabilities return to the factory defaults. http://www.manualslib.com/manual/713422/Bt-Bt6500.html?page=60

The following quick setup guide on page 8 refers to how to block certain calls. Your phone may have been setup in such a way that it is blocking some desired calls. I suspect a return to factory defaults will remove that problem and then you will have to experiment or contact the phone's support to find out how to block what you do not want otherwise. http://www.businessdirect.bt.com/content/uni2/documentation/8h3h/bt6500_user_guide.pdf

I suspect you bought this from a specialist business that should be able to offer guidance.

Re phone BT6500, how does one increase the number of rings before it goes to answerphone?

Hi
I give below the step by step procedure for changing the number of rings the phone will sound.
1. Select Menu, Answer Phone is displayed, press
Select.
2. Press until Settings is displayed, press Select.
3. Press to highlight either Ans. & record or
Answer only and press Select.
4. Answer delay is displayed, use or to display
the number of rings you want (0-9 rings or Time
saver) and select Save. Saved will be displayed.
Be aware though that the number of rings needs to be less than your ansaphone service, for BT 1571 this is 5 rings, although more may be possible if you can get BT to change their 1571 for your line.
For more information about your phone you can download a pdf format manual from here:
https://www.shop.bt.com/content/uni2/documentation/8h3j/bt6500_user_guide.pdf
This can be saved to hard disk for future reference.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya
Cheers
