Bissell quickwash 1970E for carpets/hard floors won't come on

My Bissell 1870E will not work. Only used a few times. Last time burning smell and hot. Power button does nothing. It's not the plug or fuse.

If the burning smell was like rubber burning it is probably the belt. If you only used it a few times I suggest bringing it back to place of purchase. A belt should not go after just a few times of use. Besides if anything is burning after just a few uses I would return it.

When you smell burning like that it usually indicates that the belt is worn and slipping on the motor shaft. You probably need to change the belt. You can get the belts for your model here:

SOURCE: Carpet not getting moist

Huh I had this issue. It was killing me only used it like six times then no water. I took this apart four times man. They told me it was the pump. I finally ripped it all the way down. It was the pump. But it was the black connector on the main motor. Which runs the pump it came loose. I pressed it back on problem solved. Make sure you crimp it a bit. so it does not vibrate off again. Hope this helps.

Need a user guide for a Bissell 1761 carpet cleaner

The only 1761 on the Bissell site is a micro-fiber floor duster refill (2 refills sold for $10). https://www.bissell.com/microfiber-floor-duster-refill-2-pack-1761?utm_source=legacyredirect&utm_medium=legacyredirect&utm_campaign=%2ffloor-duster-refill-2-pack-1761%2fparts . Bissell doesn't have a manual for the refills.

This is the refill for the Bissell 1763 microfiber Hard Floor Duster. See https://www.bissell.com/microfiber-hard-floor-multi-surface-duster-1763 . The instructions for this model are available on the page. The direct link to the instructions is https://www.bissell.com/~/media/site%20us/documents/user%20guides/1763/bissell_instruction_sheet_floor_duster_1763.pdf?la=en . These instructions only include the directions for adjusting the handle length on the duster.

I hope this helps.

Bissell lift off bagless making high pitched noise, fan seems to run for 30 seconds after shutting off, and a burning rubber smell, is it the belt, and how easy are they to change

The burning rubber smell is usually the belt. Be careful not to use it on your carpet as the rubber belt can get hot and liquify and really mess up your carpet (if you have one). Here's a link to some instructions for replacing the belt.

My Oreck XL was working fine, then when I vacuumed a shag rug is started smoking and smelled like something is burning. (I changed the bag, checked for clogs--none found, and roller brush is turning. It...

Even though the brush is spinning, the belt is probably worn out and stretched. when you vacuum the shag carpet, it puts more drag on the brush. try running it on a shorter carpet or hard floor for a few minutes. if it doesn't smoke, then you know it's your belt. if it does smoke, then it's probably the motor burning up.

Bissell carpet shampooer wont dispense water

Bad Pump. You pump is where the belt attaches to spin the brushes and also puts water on the floor. Take it to you local Best Buy to be serviced or a local appliance shop which may service it.
