Someone had put a blanket over our plasma tv with the tv on.. the tv was set on a timer and turned off at the correct time however now the tv will not turn back on. I think the blanket may have shocked the tv. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I have the tv unplugged right now.
The TV might have overheated. Contact the authorized service centre. Gopakumar Gopalan Google
Protection mode is now ON. If you know how to set it OFF, can do.

If you open the back, look at the can shaped items. If any of them have the tops bulged out, they need to be replaced. This should solve your picture problem, unless there is something else wrong. What is happening,is they are heating up,and the picture goes out.I bet the longer you have the TV off,the longer it stays on?Hope this helps.Thank You very much! if you have a warranty let them check it out before opening the panels, it may void it.... may be an internal power short.

Try checking the cable making sure they are tightly plugged in. My dads Plasma screen started showing orange / brown colors in place of primary red... he had been moving things around and didnt realize the wires were loosened in the process. This made him realize.... GET an HDMI and get rid of all the other cables......
