Plasma tv wont turn on after static shock

Someone had put a blanket over our plasma tv with the tv on.. the tv was set on a timer and turned off at the correct time however now the tv will not turn back on. I think the blanket may have shocked the tv. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I have the tv unplugged right now.

The TV might have overheated. Contact the authorized service centre. Gopakumar Gopalan Google
Protection mode is now ON. If you know how to set it OFF, can do.

If you open the back, look at the can shaped items. If any of them have the tops bulged out, they need to be replaced. This should solve your picture problem, unless there is something else wrong. What is happening,is they are heating up,and the picture goes out.I bet the longer you have the TV off,the longer it stays on?Hope this helps.Thank You very much! SOURCE: plasma tv problem

Try checking the cable making sure they are tightly plugged in. My dads Plasma screen started showing orange / brown colors in place of primary red... he had been moving things around and didnt realize the wires were loosened in the process. This made him realize.... GET an HDMI and get rid of all the other cables......

I have a 42 inch Hitachi plasma tv that is making a very loud static noice coming from the internal speakers. It stays at a contstant very loud volume unless I completly mute the tv or turn the volum

Based on what you have tried if a buzz or loud static via the speakers you have something wrong in the audio output circuit of the set--problem here is that circuit may be part of the Main board that processes all signal---a look inside---following the speaker leads back would lead you to that board.

A simple thing to do to narrow it a little (you may have done this) is with sound all the way off put your ear to the internal speaker--hear anything at all like a deep hum?

Depending on age of set and cost of the board likely bad it may or may not be a do it yourself repair.

Makes clicking noise and wont turn on.....can I lay it face down to repair it from the back

I it down on a blanket, make sure to remove any objects on the blanket so it will not scratch up the screen.
Most failure in the PLASMA TV are the power supply module, Z-sustain module, Y-sustain module. Look for bad caps, blown fuses, etc.

I touch the on/off button on the Prima TV to turn

I am sure you had some strong static electricity. The static spark arced to inside of the TV in to the circuit board. Many of the low cost TV sets have poor static electricity protection.
In most cases there is damaged caused by static shock to electronic devices.
Just for curiosity, you can try unplugging the set from the AC mins and plugging it back in to do a simple reset, in case there is no damage and some logic device became hung up.
Last year I picked up my mobile phone and got a static shock from it. I had to get a new phone. This phone never worked again!

Button set for on/off replaced but no other controls work

You might need the main board, but I would advise firstly to call your LG service centre & arrange an engineer to call & perform a software update for the TV as this will most likely cure the problem by upgrading the software version.

UNIT TURNS ON AND RIGHT BACK OFF, KEEPS CYCLING LIKE THIS

I had the exact same problem. Googled and fond someone had gotten the tv to stay on by hitting "enter" on the remote as soon as they saw "AKAI" logo onscreen. That didn't work for me, but it got me holding other buttons down on the remote, all tried no go. So I then decided to tinker with buttons on the tv itself and VOILA! If I hold down the MENU button on the tv, the damn thing works perfectly! Every function still works from the remote too. So I taped the MENU button ON THE TV down, and all is well. After having the tv sit for 6 months, tripping over it during a move... now I have it back and no repair bill. Hope it works for you guys.

No charge... ;)

TV won't turn on.

Stevenson

the fact that you got shock is because something is not right inside the tv. You need to have that tv check because a manufacturer will not fabricated a tv that can electrocute anyone, specially when you turn the volume. Static electricity is always present in front of any tv that might be the cause of why you got shock. By removing your coat, and touch some metallic object you may get electrocuted, because of static electricity. Please, I want you to have that tv check, I can check that tv for you. I felt something is wrong inside the tv, and something is loose inside like pennies and toys objects. That's my impression. My e-mail address [email protected]

I recently moved my toshiba 62mx195 across country it was well wrapped in bubble wrap and moving blankets, Now we go to turn it on and nuthinghappens except the timer/rec blinks yellow then the power blue...

Your Tv power supply is in protection, this means it wont start up, could be static. Rather take this to a Service Centre to check, If you have insurance claim it under the section travel/moving goods etc
