Lg microwave reset button?

Then the keypad showed "locked" when you touch any button. My husband unplugged the microwave. Now the keypads work again, but it will not heat. Is there a reset button? Any other suggestions?

Membrane keypads are not very durable, and do fail after a relatively short time.

The only method is to replace them as a spare part.

If this has a controller that runs a microwave and an oven, then the problem F2 means a temperature related fault such as a bad temp sensor / thermostat or a defect in the control board. If it's just a microwave, then the problem is likely a failing keypad. In many cases, those can be replaced economically. If you repost with your exact model number (62622 is not a complete model number) then we can advise you further and more specifically.

The "6" pad on the microwave's membrane keypad is shorted.

If this is under warranty, refer to your owner's manual to contact Frigidaire customer service about finding a local servicer to fix it under warranty.

If it's out of warranty, looking at the retail price of this model, it may not be economical to have it repaired.

If you or a friend can get a new keypad from Frigidaire at a decent price, you can refer to a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.

My microwave GE model # JVM1440WH04 spacemaker has no heat coming out of it. My husband heated microwave lasagna in it last, everything works except for the heat, any solutions?

Push the microwave door tightly closed. The computer will not start cooking until the door is closed for safety reasons. Some models of microwave will give a warning on the screen if the door is open.
2

Ensure you have programmed a heat setting, entered a cooking time and pressed the "Start" button on the microwave's keypad. Check that the microwave is not set to "Defrost" mode.
3

Unplug the microwave and wait for one minute. This measure will reset the microwave's internal computer if it has frozen or scrambled. Plug the microwave back in and try again.
4

Ensure the keypad lock mode is inactive. Most microwave ovens have a lockout feature that prevents children from starting the microwave while unsupervised. Lockout mode is usually deactivated by holding down the button that bears a padlock symbol

Touch screen displays is lit up , but will not respond by touching any of the promts. I have unpluged the unit hopeing to reset no change. unit was working fine the day before.

HELLO.

The solution is to troubleshoot the microwave as explained below.

1 Check the power supply. Make sure the microwave is firmly plugged into a working electrical outlet and that your wall outlet is active if your home uses outlets controlled by a wall switch. Check your home's fuses or circuit breakers to ensure they have not been tripped. Without power the microwave will not respond to any input.

2 Make sure the parental lock is inactive. Some ovens, like the one shown in the image above, feature a keypad lock to prevent children playing with the controls. Most keypad locks can be cancelled by holding down a button or combination of buttons for a few seconds.

3 Make sure the door is firmly closed. Some microwave ovens will not allow any control panel input if the door is open.

4 Remove the microwave from the power, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in. This will reset the microwave oven if there is a temporary problem with the software.

5 Press the "Stop/Cancel" button several times to cancel the current operation and return the microwave to standby mode. Re-enter your cooking instructions using the keypad as usual.

please let me know the outcome..

thanks.

My keypad is nonresponsive. I unplugged the unit once, and was able to reset it and it worked for one heating. 2 hours later the keypad is now unresponsive again. Upon unplugging/replugging it again shows...

The membrane keypad has failed.

On some models, you can replace the membrane keypad. I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.

On other models, the keypad is only available as part of the whole control panel frame. It's easier, but a little more expensive.

You may choose to do either yourself, or have it done for you.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

Microwave model number: 721.80593402. There seems to be a problem with the control pad. It will start but the stop/clear button isn't working....

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes and try again.

If it still doesn't work, then your membrane keypad has failed.

If the keypad is available separately and
you (or someone you know) might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.

If this model's keypad is not available separately, you would need to order the control panel frame, which comes with a new keypad.

In this case, you simply move your circuit board into the new frame. That is a simple do-it-yourself job.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Then you unplug the keypad (as per the photo below) and move the circuit board into your frame.

I have a GE Microwave and while pushing button the keypad locked and i got the message CONTROLS ARE LOCKED - how do i get out of this? I can't clear it and the buttons don't respond to touch. Kelley

If a hard reset (unplugging power for 2 minutes)does not fix it, then you have a failed membrane keypad.

To give you any further free help, we would need your full model number form the tag in or on the unit.

Please make a new post with that your full model number and symptoms.

My over the range microwave is not working properly the buttons are not responding. there is any thing can do to fix his problem

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes.

If it's still not working, you probably have a bad membrane keypad.

Direct spraying of cleaners on the keypad and steam from the cooktop can damage the controls.

I always recommend that you spray non-ammonia cleaner on a soft cloth (not a paper towel which can scratch) and gently wipe the keypad.

And I always recommend that you use the vent fan whenever you're cooking on the stove top to keep heat, steam, and grease out of the controls and door panels.

If it does not dry out over time, it may need to be manually dried or blown out.

If the keypad is bad, you may need to replace the control panel frame, which comes with a new keypad.

To order Goldstar / L.G. parts, visit Encompass. You'll probably have to call them at 866-779-5835.

Microwave Keypad not working

This model does have a child lock. If it's on, the display will say "LOCKED". It is turned on and off by holding dfown the "0" key for 4-5 seconds. You may also have a bad keypad, which in many cases can be replaced. A bad keypad may be worn out due to age, damaged, or it may have gotten wet or otherwise contaminated. Moisture and contamination can be caused by spraying of cleaners, by storing the microwave in an unheated garage or shed, or infestation. I warn my customers to never spray cleaner directly onto the microwave keypad, since the liquid can get inside and "lock up" or even ruin the keypad or controller. Apply an alcohol-based cleaner (such as the purple kind) to a cloth (paper towels can scratch) and gently wipe it off. I suggest to my customers that they NEVER use any ammonia-based cleaner (like the blue stuff) on a microwave, since the ammonia will crack and distort polycarbonate plastics. Repost if you need more help.
