Black Spots are increasingly projected. Lamp Hours are 1006. Should I have the lamp replaced?

Replace the lamp and reset the lamp timer.
Lamp timer can be reset by holding down the up arrow key and then following the easy on-screen instructions.

Unplug any cables from the projector (except for power)
On the device (not the remote control) hold down exit for 3 sec
lamp status are shown
on the remote control use MENU, and then left right to reset lamp

This is caused by dust on the lens assembly. If you can remove the lens, clean the surfaces with a lens cloth. That should resolve the problem. It is possible that the there is dust in the optical pathway inside the unit as well. If the cleaning of the lens does not resolve the problem, the unit should be brought in for a professional cleaning. It is not suggested that anyone open up these units as there are fine adjustments that can be changed internally easily that could result in convergence problems.

There is a lens(looks like a small magnifying glass) made out of plastic that the light shines through to focus the light on the mirror before it hits the DLP chip, that lens is Melted in the center. I unfortunately had the same thing happen to me, and I am unable to find a replacement part.
