When using my computer I can smell a burning smell. Nothing is hot
SOURCE: odor
Hi Sunlark,
I'm guessing your product is new -- the first couple of times you heat the elements, they're going to cook-off any chemicals that might have been on the plates as part of the manufacturing process. This may include any non-stick chemicals that might be bonded to the surface.
I personally try to avoid non-stick products as I'm leery of the Teflon/fluorine in the product, but I'm told I'm a little paranoid about things like that - - you have to use your own judgement.
If this smell persists after the first several uses, I'd contact the manufacturer's customer service people.

it could be leaking when the fire place is on you said you checked for leaks was this to the burner as well ? it sounds like unbrunt gas check the burner , hope this helps , are you feeling sick or headaches as this would b e fumes ?
SOURCE: it smells like something is burning smells like
If it smells like an incomplete combustion smell, clean the burner first. I'm assuming it used to work and now doesn't? If it never worked correctly it may have the wrong jet in it. There is a jet for propane and one for natural gas. They do not interchange. If it smells like plastic burning, something probably got past the screen and fell into the burner.
Hello purrpplee - If the smell is coming out of the oven vent, more than likely it is something inside the oven that is creating the odor. Also, keep in mind that new cooking products can create a burning electrical odor when the bake and broil cycles are used as any residual coating or film on the oven liner and elements burns off. However, if odor increases consult a professional for an accurate diagnosis.
