When i turn my samsung camera NX1000 and take off the cap, there is a black screen . this just started happening and i have had the camera for about 8 months

Original firmware is according to model year of build on revision sets with firmware : and important the serial number it can happen there are modifications on marketing technical decision in one year of build.

Replace the icemaker. It it does nothing when pushing the test button it needs replaced

Check the mode wheel in your upper right.. check manual ,if all of the modes has all of the options.. I think the mode setting is the solve to your problem.. if that is a software problem, then you can just try to reset by removing the battery and restarting it .. or if the problem persists ,then go to the nearest service center to help you out.

Noise can be because of dust or mechanical error

Buy another camera...Samsung is no good

Formatting is erasing the memory card and preparing it to take new photos. If you haven't saved the photos to your computer yet, you will need to find a memory card utility that "rescues" data (pictures, in this case) from a card. You can go to your card manufacturers (Kingston, Sandisk, or whatever your brand is) website and find a suggestion for what utility they suggest.

If you had them saved to your computer, no worries, just start taking pictures again!

Samsung's have notorious problems with their lens-cap shutters malfunctioning. This seems to be the case with yours. It will have to be serviced, I'm afraid.

As a battery saving method, Sony typically puts a button on the camera body that allows you to turn off the screen. You will still be able to take photos but you will have to use the viewfinder. This would be the first thing to check See #8 on the diagram.
