Christy,  Above is an excellent link to help you figure out the problem. I assume it was used when you bought it. It may even have spyware and virus issues if you bought it used. If you can't resolve it you might try formatting the hard drive and starting fresh with a new system install.

Toshiba laptops are notorious for coming with a bunch of useless software installed that will no doubt slow your machine... thats just my two cents...

Anyway, add to that, running Windows Vista, Anti-Virus software, and it only comes factory with 512mb of system memory, and you will have one slow running computer.

First thing I would suggest, is getting a system ram upgrade. It should support DDR2 and have two memory slots. DDR2 right now is fairly cheap. I would go for two 1gb sticks for a total of 2gb of ram.

If you aren't savvy about tackling this yourself, take it by your local computer shop or parts super store and get the ram upgrade, 2 gigabytes total. You will prob be alot happier with it's performance.

Picture on freeview appears to be in slow motion

Hello.
Connect DVD player to your TV and make sure that there is no "slow motion" while using it. If everything seems to be OK - problem has nothing to do with TV. It is outside of it and could have something to do with your signal source (like cable box, etc).
If DVD have same issue - main board in your TV have to be replaced.
Regards.
Russ.

Quickplay on laptop plays everything slow motion and no sound, no sound for games most of time.

Are you running xp or Vista?

In XP go to device manager and expand list of IDE ATA ATAPI controllers. Right click on primary IDE controller and select properties. In advanced screen check primary IDE mode - that should be DMA.
IF that is in PIO mode - that is your problem.
Just click on driver tab in the same window and click uninstall.
REstart computer twice and problem should be solved.
Please leave your feedback if issue is solved

Slow Motion

Normal 0 How much memory is installed in your computer? The camera uses quite a bit of your memory to operate properly and would cause the poor video. Could be other
Issues, but worth checking.
Hope this helps. Bud
