SOURCE: I am having a problem with the paper tray for

The paper is not feeding from the paper tray. The loud click is alarming, but not the problem. Check the adjustments in the paper tray. The left and right guides should be snug, but the rear guide should give between a 1/16 inch and a 1/8 inch of free play. If the rear guide is tight, that is the problem. You can check for this by depressing the lever on the right front of the tray. Depressing the lever should raise the stack of paper out of the tray so that it can slide forward.

If you remove the paper from the tray, but will see calibration marks for the paper size you are using. Unlock the read paper guide n the tray, squeeze the release and move the guide ot the mark for the size paper you are using. For example, it you are using letter size paper, the read guide should point to "LTR".

I cant get my printer HP2055 dn to print letter paper..it just goes to the legal tray (3). I also can't figure out how to get to the menu on the printer to see if the trays are set correctly.

Go to your menu and select paper handling. From there you can reset the paper settings. If paper will not pull from tray 2 you probably have worn out feed rollers.

HP color laserjet 4600 dn printer How do I set

From the control panel of the printer, do the following:
1. arrow down once to highlight the 2nd item: "paper handling".
2. press the check button (turquoise color) to select this option.
3. arrow down 2x's until you highlight the "tray 2 size".
4. hit the check button to select this item.
5. You should see a size that is "letter" and there should be a ' * ' asterisk which means that is the default setting. If you see other paper sizes as well, then arrow up or arrow down to highlight the preferred size, and then press the check button to insert the asterisk ' * ' which will set that as the default.
6. you change the paper type as well as paper size for the other trays in the same fashion. Most HP printers will select paper according to the SIZE as well as the TYPE. The printer can "sense" the paper size in the paper cassette tray by the stops that hold the paper. Therefore the printer will choose that paper based upon the SIZE and what you define as its type.

It probably can but only from the front slot, the paper tray has to bend the paper around the roller in the front when feeding.
