Hi!
What I understand is that your photo explosion deluxe is a windows xp software. Since it is not working readily out of the box in windows 7 then what you could do is install windows xp mode for windows 7. Windows xp mode allows xp software to be installed and windows 7. What you need to do is just download windows xp mode and install it. After which you could then install that software on there. Just make sure to uninstall your current installation of photo explosion deluxe before you do this.
Here is the link to the download for windows xp mode:

And Here is the link to some of their videos on how to use xp mode so that you could understand further how to set it up:

Cut and paste all of the lines and pick your OS (I see Mac and Windows up to XP).
Connect with usb cable to your laptop and use any of the photo editing softwares available; like windows photo gallery to import your pictures to your pc. Make sure the pc recognised the camera device before starting the application.
OK. You say that "You can't put it on", so by this I presume that there was previously an Operating System on your Machine? If so, was it Windows XP or Windows Vista? If you had Windows Vista on there, but did not like the look and feel of it, and decided to remove it so that you can put Windows XP on there, then it's a lot more trickier to format Drives that have been shipped out with Windows Vista OEM, then what it would be normally. If your Laptop had XP on there, but for one reason or another, it needed to be reinstalled, then let me know and I'll try and help you out a bit more based on the answer you reply with.
If you're running Windows XP, put your Windows XP (or recovery) disc in, load Windows Setup, then press R for Recovery in setup.
You'll be asked eventually which installation of Windows you want to use, it's usually 1. It'll ask for an admin password, if you haven't set one, hit enter.
Then type "fixmbr" and confirm the action. Restart, then that should sort your problem.
