Saeco vienna plus red solid light cannot prime water line

We turned on machine for the first time and attempted to prime the water line. Coffee and Steamer light flash for a little while. Coffee light becomes solid green but red error light turns on and is solid. We have attempted to push the steamer button and turn on the steamer to get the water flowing but it doesn't sound as if the pump is coming on. We just hear an initial click and nothing else.

Make certain the line from the water resource is cleaned and not obstructed. If the pump fails to move the water from the reservoir to the heating tank, then the pump needs to be replaced.

SOURCE: Saeco Aroma Problems

Whenever we had this problem we needed to prime the pump. Turn the machine on and wait for the coffee light to come on. Then push the coffee button and turn the steamer on wide open until water comes through the coffee outlet. I hope that helps. The user manual can be downloaded from the saeco site.

SOURCE: Machine will not steam

It sounds like the booster boiler is not functioning properly, either the thermostat tripped or the element is damaged.

SOURCE: Hi, I a problem with my Saeco s-class incanto

Try this, when you run the hot water cycle to prime machine and it stops putting out water push in on the knob if that works then replace the tap rod assembly or the whole steam valve assembly.

My saeco odea giro coffee machine has a red light flashing quickly. The light looks like an exclamation mark. No matter what we have done to try and correct it still doesn't stop.

First try to prime the machine.
Turn on hot water and prime about 100 ml hot water. If the red light remain you have to change the flowmeter.

My saeco vienna plus has a code issue The red light is flashing but the brew green light is not on

1. Make sure the drawer for coffee grounds is securely closed 2. make sure that coffee beans are loaded and are actually down into the machine (and not clogged at the top) 3. Make sure water is in the hopper. If so, "bounce: the hopper a few times to see if bubbles come out indicating air in the water line. 4. Turn on and hope for a green light. If not, re-check 1 through 3

On Vienna Deluxe after the beans are ground and ready to drop the espresso shots, nothing comes out and the red light goes on? I shut the unit off for a minute or so, turn it back on and it works ok, but...

Solid red light is a ventilate light.. Try Priming the machine to see if the light goes away.

Something may be in the flow meter. Its the while device between the water tank and the pump of the machine. You would have to open the machine and clean out the flow meter.

Also, if you haven't descaled the machine already, I would start there.

Flashing lights on my saeco italia espresso machine

I had the same problem, two green flashing lights with one red (water) all 3 would just keep flashing and not turn solid. No coffee can be made or hot water. I could not pump prime. The problem was the steam wand was blocked with old milk residue. It needs unblocking or you will never pump prime. I could not unscrew the steam wand...so I let it sink in a glass full of hot water for a few minutes and then turned the water knob counter clockwise to push out the softened residue. After that, everything was good. When water started flowing out of the steam wand, the red light turned off and the green lights turned solid. The obvious answer to why you can't pump prime is there is a blockage somewhere and best to start with the steam wand. --Mabada

Red warning light comes on in my saeco vienna deluxe I just aquired this unit and to date have not been able to make a cup of coffee. All the green lights light up and coffee starts grinding but after that...

Hi
More than likely your grind is to fine and you are using oily beans (shiney). There is a small knob in the bean hopper. turn it down to the minus side. Turn the big knob to the # 18. If that doesn't work you are going to have to take the grinder apart and clean it.

Coffee and steam lights flash after using steamer and will not go solid

Hi
Once you have finished steaming, turn the steam button off, then open the knob and let the steam out. The water pump will turn on again and bring the temp back down. When the pump changes tone, the light will go off and you can brew again. It takes less than 10 seconds.

Saeco Vienna Coffeemaker won't heat/reach 'ready' state

May be time for a new machine.

Its either the electronics or the boiler, or worse. Both.

Vienna's have a typical life expectancy of about 4 to 7 years. 10 years is very commendable.

If the electronics and boiler are both bad it will end up costing almost as much as purchasing a new machine.
