I have the same model. The only thing that work was simultaneously holding down the HOME and STOP buttons for about 5 seconds. The blinking yellow light stopped and I was able to scan.

I ran into the same problem with the PIXMA MP610 and unfortunately the only "solution" I found was to replace the empty ink cartridge. Which I agree makes no sense since I wasn't trying to print anything...

Hi,

I may need more information, but I have a printer/scanner and it will not allow me to scan if the catridges are not in the machine. Even if they are empty, I have to leave them in the printer in order to scan. I will still get the "low ink" warning, but it will allow me to scan documents. Yours is possibly the same. Sometimes you simply have to acknowledge "OK" so you can enter a different mode of the printer, so if you have not acknowledged to the machine that you understand the error message, this could be a reason you cannot scan. Try pressing the "OK", "enter" or the "yes" button, depending on what button configfuration your printer has.

Canon MP620 , full ink cartridge reads as " ink has run out" U041

The Canon printer may only use genuine ink cartridges which contain a chip so that you cannot fill the cartridge with ink or use non genuine ink cartridges.

Where is the serialnumber of the Pixma MP620 printer?

with the front panel down, lift the top cover and the glass scan screen panel, this will reveal the ink cartridges, wait until the cartridges have moved left then look down to the right of the cartridges, on the silver chassis you will see the serial number.

I can't find where to put the ink in my Cannon MP620 series printer

When you open the lid, and the top/scanning portion you will be able to see the printer heads and it is very easy from there to find the ink tanks.

Out of ink, but can't scan?

Hi Scratchpatch,
My husband and I have just had the same problem. If you make sure all the ink cartridges are still in there, empty or not, and then press the Stop/Reset/Cancel button for 5 seconds it will take you back on to the main menu. this button is located in the middleish right of the button pad and is the only red coloured button on there. I hope this helps!!!
