Taken from the User Manual.

Remove the oven shelves. Remove the loose oven back by unscrewing the 4 securing screws (one at each corner) and remove (Where fitted). Unscrew the lens cover by turning anticlockwise. Remove the bulb and replace. Replace the lens cover and oven back.

How do I replace the corner lens cover

To replace the cover plate on an electrical outlet, simply unscrew the screw from the plate, remove the plate, then replace with new cover and screw in. You can get new cover plates at Walmart or Home Depot. Most come with 1 screw, but some have 2.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dosn't always read disc's, games dvd's. and now has stopped reading compeatly

Hello,

The problem is that the lens/laser is weak and need to be replaced. Since it was reading disc and now it cannot read any disc anymore, that confirms the problem. To replace the laser/lens of the playstation 3. Please follow the steps below:
  1. Safely turn off the playstatiion 3,
  2. Disconnect it from the power outlet,
  3. Leave the unit to dissipate its high current in about 6 hours before starting to work on it,
  4. Open the top cover of the PS3.
  5. Pull out the power plug for the Blu-ray drive.
  6. Carefully pull up the Blu-ray drive and unclip the data cable ribbon from PS3 drive.
  7. Remove the two silver screws on top right and bottom right,
  8. Unscrew the 3 black screws to the left as well,
  9. Remove the top metal shielding of the Blu-ray drive, exposing the guts.
  10. Remove the top frame now that we are inside to reveal the laser (unscrew the screws)
  11. Once that is done you should be staring at the Blu-ray laser.
  12. Remove the Blu-ray lens screws,
  13. There are more screws to remove,
  14. There you go after removing all those screws the laser should easily come out, simply repeat the process for another working Blu-ray drive and extract its Blu-ray lens or just simply buy a replacement part (part #kem-400aaa) and insert it in the Blu-ray drive and start screwing it back on.
Hope this helped You. Thank You for using FixYa!!!

The player just reads "disc error"

Hello,

If your DVD player keeps reading disc error, it simply means the player is unable to read.

The reason is that the lens of the player is weak and cannot play the disc.

The solution for you to completely replace the lens.

to replace the lens, get a replacement lens from an electronic shop,

get the appropriate screwdriver and unscrew the player,

open up the disc tray and carefully replace the lens,

ensure that you do not tamper with the panel of the player.

once the replacement is properly done,

couple back the player and test with a DVD disc.

DVD player keeps saying "can't read disc" We have tried cleaning w no luck. It was never a problem for 2 years. thanks

hello there,
the problem simply is that the lens is old and weak, cleaning it would not solve it but replacing it would be very ok.

to replace it, you look for a compatible replacement lens, then unscrew the dvd player, you would screw out the cd clipper that is above the lens, then you carefully disconnect the lens and replace it, try a dvd before screwing back to see it is working before you screw the case back on it.

Head light install

assuming you mean the bulb only, from behind simply unscrew 1/4 turn the lamp socket and replace. dont touch the bulb, it will shorten its life. suggest wearing rubber gloves or holding with a paper towel.

if its the lens assembly, that should unscrew from the back, look at your new lens assembly as a guide.
