The light on my upper left touch pad is now red, and with this it seems to be frozen or turned off. I read a suggestion to double click that area which did not work. I also tried to find the button "under the amber flower" but my computer does not appear to have this. what can I do?

Hey,
I had the same problem. It is pretty easy to fix.
You have one of two options to follow.
1) Push down moderately hard on the left mouse button. After 2 mins or so, and the cap should back on to the button on the bottom
2) if number 1 doesn't work get a needle or pin and lift the left mouse button off. Then just apply very little, not even a drop, maybe half of a drop to the button and apply the cap back on and push down.

you can solved this problem by following these: 1. Find the icon of your pointing device in the taskbar (mine is synaptics pointing device) 2. point to the icon and right-click on it. 3. check if "Tap To Click" option is checked. 4. if not, then click on "tap to click" option so that it will be checked. 5. try now to double click using the touch pad...and you will be okey now.

Just double tap the same area ie the light that came on when you did it the first time.
