Control board how much does it cost to fix the electornic control board

After review of your washer components, there is a strong possibility that you have a bad electronic control board. You have two control boards, one is for the motor and one for the other functions.



Washer electronic control board for Kenmore Elite Washer model #11021062001 Electronic control board 8571359 is the circuit board that manages the washer's functions, such as filling, washing, draining and spinning. It sends voltage to the drive motor and other electro-mechanical component.

If you elect to replace the board make sure you ground yourself by rubbing your hands on something that is bare steel. Static electricity will knock a board out.

All appliances with electric control boards should have a surge protector. You can purchase a wall socket surge protector for $20-25.00. It is a good investment considering how expensive control boards are.

Rule of thumb; "If the unit is either 7 years old or the cost of repair is 1/3 or more of the original price, purchase a new unit.

Consider it purchasing a new unit, stripping your existing unit for parts to sell on e-bay. You will make a little money and save others expensive parts cost.

and ONLY after you diagnose & find a problem

You will need to replace it. The storm fried your board for sure, there is no fix for that, and a broken board is useless. you can't really put it back together because the entire surface of an electornics board is conducting electricity through it from component to component. If it could be fixed, it will surely cost you more to fix than buy a new one. Sorry to be the bad news bearer but it is shot, you are left with a giant paperweight.

I recently repaired 2 LCDs that would not imidiatly turn on when the power button was pressed. It took the first one 5-10 cycles before it would start, and the little one took about a half hour. I removed the back and found that a few components were bad on the inverter portion of the board and replaced them with corrisponding parts from a local electornics store and they both started first try everytime. If you have the tinkering spirit and for the price of a soldering station some desolder braid and some solder you could fix your problem today.

Just make sure it is unplugged!

the main electornic control does not contorl the top tempt but the dampner does . there is for some model a newer style. thes are motor driven and some work well/ there is a update kit . yous mmay hase it but can not tell you i would have to see machine .... but i would say the dampner control is problem .. mm

Ur power supply board have problems,like the capacitors have leakage gases by bulges on it top,or puff up on it top.U know basic soldering,and electornic's.By replacing these capacitors that have leakage gases.The power functions will return to normal.Or tries Websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

I would recomend you take it to be repaired. I repair electornics for a living and i find camera's tricky.

Known Dacor oven problem-

You got two options:

1) You call around to your local electric motor shops and ask if they have anyone that can troubleshoot control boards. Electricians that deal in micro electronics are becoming fewer and fewer since the cost of boards become too cheap to bother with.

2) Replace the unit. It'll cost you more if you fix one problem just to find another. Rule of thumb is if it cost over 50% of the purchase price to fix, replace it. Of course, on more expensive items that changes.

Oh, before you do any of this make sure you do a continuity check on your cord. When you do your check move the cord around to see if you have an intermittent short.
