The battery cover on the back of the phone protects the battery.
Removing the battery cover
1. Hold the phone firmly and locate the Cover Release Latch.
2. Firmly "pop" the cover off the phone.

3. let go of the reset button, wait a few seconds then let go of power slider and it should work
else u may need 2 get a new phone or try a firmware upgrade
You may have to do a major reset on it. First remove and replace the battery and turn it on again. If that doesn't fix it, there is a tiny reset button on the bottom near the connector. You will need to push it in with a small point such as a paper clip wire.

ok one last shot i can think of is if you take the back cover off remove the battery and the sim card. if there is a reset button it should be there. that is all i can think of. one other thing is did she maybe hit the keypad lock by accident?
