Hello,
If the internal antenna is broken that means the ferrite bar is broken, that does imply that the wiring around it is cut. If the two parts are not removed, the antenna may still be able to perform correctly (just as two magnets put end to end). You can try to put it in the vicinity of another radio to see if there is any resonance effect.
Hope it helps.

Broken antenna on grundig mini 300 radio

Replacement is possible, the back of the radio needs to come off and there is a screw at the bottom of the antenna. Remove this and the old one will slide out and simple to install new one. Call Eton for replacement, can be foung with a google search....

We have a Grundig S350DL radio that was my father's. There is no manual. FM works great. Can't get AM. Radio turns off on its own!! Any suggestions?

Hello,
The problem you are having may be due to some configuration settings (such as a timer). Not dtecting the AM signal, may be due to interference from power lines. To improve AM reception (if there is something to improve) one should rotate the radio to orient the internal ferrite antenna. Using the radio close to a window can improve reception.
To enable you to diagnose the problems that may be due to some configuration setting I give you the link to the radio's manual.

Hope it helps.

Hi Will the grundig G4000A get radio stations from overseas specificlly from Poland

Hello,
Yes it will if you know the frequencies and the broadcast times of the radio you want. During the night the best broadcast bands are the longer wavelengths.
49 m from 6390 kHz and up
41 m from 7600 kHz and up

31 m from 9200 kHz and up
25 m from 12121 kHz and up

During the day Use the shorter wavelengths 11m, 16m, 21/22 m
Unfold the whip antenna, or use the wire antenna if you have one.
Reception is affected by the electrical charge denisty of the ionosphere. It depends on the solar activity (sun spot flares and such activities).

You will hear Radio China international all over the spectrum, Deutch Welle, Radio Canada International, Radio Havana, and a plethora of Religious brodcasts. If like me you miss Radio Moscow, it is now called Goloss Rossya (The voice of Russia). Don't get upset, I was joking.

Good listening.

Black Meatal thing

The thing you are describing is a ferrite rod. It is the aerial that is used for LW and MW reception. The telescopic aerial on top is used for FM.

Providing it is a clean break and you haven't lost any parts of the ferrite rod, just tape it back together. It shouldn't have too great an effect on the reception.

Hope this helps,

Matt.

Once you turn the unit on, the battery indicator should disappear. Make sure the batteries are inserted correctly. With six AAs, I've put them in backwards on more than one occasion.

Hope this helps.
