Why does my CDR778 playback tray ID the CDRW Audio CD I just recorded and finalized as "NO DISK"?

Maybe it is a faulty disk. maybe there was a flaw in finalizing? What happens if your try it in another CD player?
CDRW have much smaller lands and pits than commercially produced CDs and players vary in their ability to tolerate burned CDs.

I have a problem to finalize cd after recording

On my CD recorder when it enters the finalize mode it first writes the PMA, after that mine gives a readout of the time it will take to finalize, after all that you need to hit the play button to write to the disk.

I don't have your exact unit but I supect you need to push an additional button to get it to start writing to the disc to complete the process.

I just bougth a marantz cdr 300 cd recorder, everything seems to be working fine, but I'm not able to listen what I just recordered on any other cd player.Marantz cd 72 mr 2020.Thanks

Hi,
It sounds like you haven't followed the last step to the burning procedure. All you need to do once you've completed burning your disc is to Finalize the disc. Read below why you need to finalize as well as the steps to follow in order to finalize the disc.
Hope this helps ;)
How to Finalize Finalizing is writing the TOC (table of contents) on a disc so a CD player can recognize the number of tracks, the total time for each track, and their location on the disc. A recorded disc must be finalized to playback on a standard CD player. Once finalized a CD-R disc can be played on CD players that support CD-R playback. CD-RW discs can only be played on CD players that support CD-RW playback. Consult your CD player owner's manual to confirm supported formats. Finalizing is necessary to: • be able to play a recorded CD-R or CD-RW disc on a CD player • prevent further recording on a disc • avoid erasing tracks on a CD-RW disc • record text information onto a disc you record Notes: • A finalized CD-R disc can never be recorded onto again. • A finalized CD-RW disc can be unfinalized for more recording. • The CDR300 can play back unfinalized CD-R or CD-RW discs. • SYNC REC+FINAL mode automatically finalizes.
Here are the steps in order to Finalize your disk
1 Push Stop. The display shows the number of tracks and their total playing time. 2 Push FINALIZE. FINALIZE is displayed for about 3 seconds.

I dont know how to finalize the CD after i recorded

Finalize should be automatic? What are you using for recording software? I recommend CDBurnerXP which can be downloaded here. The software will have the option to finalize the disk or leave open for adding more files. Default is to finalize the disk.

My Computer isn't reading a Phillips CD-R

Did you "finalize" the CD-R on your Phillips CD-R audio recorder? You must finalize it for it to find the Table Of Contents. Can you read it in your Phillips recorder? Try to finalize it again. I also have heat issues with the Phillips recorder, and I added a small computer fan to it to prevent lockups. Best wishes,

How do i finallize disk with my tdk da-3826 dual-cd recorder

Press the Finalize button (and it will start flashing) and then press Play button right away (the finalize light will stop flashing and be a steady light).

Once the disc is complete the CD-R light will change to CD.

Good luck!

Dvd recorder

Hi Nickstart, start checking if the problem is related with the kind of Disk and test on different brands, disk types.
Even if a recorder is supposed to work fine on both +R, -R etc. , often you find out, that due to error correction methor, a device worksd well on one or the other type.

Your DVD supports the following DVDs -R, -RW, -RAM, all -R disks are supported both on 3'' and 5''.
On +R it just writes regular DVD +R, DVD +RW and mini DVD +R are not listed in DVD specs, therefore are not supported on writing.
When your unit records DVD +R it changes the format to DVD-V, The usint does not support DVD+RV.

I assume it works better with -R

I often get troubles with many DVD low price brands, try testing some good ones like Verbatim, TDK, Sony , Philips etc.

See also the manual here, at page 6 and 7 it also says: "Play may be impossible on some DVD-RW (DVD Video Recording format), +RW, CD-R or CD-RW discs due to the condition of the
recording."

Hope this had been helpful, test both a good brand DVD-R and a Good brand DVD+R.
If it still has problems when finalizing the CD, then it can be the usual lens problem, Or the DVD you are writing is too big in size and your player has problem on the final phase of DVD writing. If Data nearly takes all the 4.7 Gb allowed, there won't be enough space to finalize the DVD.

Recorded finalized CD's will not play on standard CD player

Are you using the same brand of discs you used to? Do they palyback on the machine in both the record and the playback deck? Do your old cdr's you recorded still play in the standard cd player? You can try the diagnostics - hold down the 'play' and 'fwd' keys on the record side as you power it on.

Post recording

maybe its the format of the material that is recorded on the disk. I.E. maybe MP3 when you should have used CD audio format or some such problem.
