I have a Samsung television that powers off almost 3 minutes to the second after I turn the t.v. on. It turns itself back on, but continues to power off around the 3 minute mark repeatedly.

The power supply in the television is faulting under a load. There is a fault with the TV after the power supply or with the power supply itself. The power supply is a 'switched mode' type and will shut down and then recover under a fault. Therefore it will continue to 'cycle' if the fault is still present. Samsungs are renowned for doing power supplies but a new board could be a costly guess if it is not the reason. Sorry, I know this probably doesn't help much, but, with all electronics they are good when they work but are a costly headache when they don't. If the set is old it is probably better to look at upgrading. Cheers

Samsung UN55F6300AFXZA, shut off would not turn back on blinking red led and clicking noise I know about capacitor swap but now I have a blackish spot looks like a smoke mark that is on my screen

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

Fault code 004-350 marking device failure

Sorry, Phasers need more than one minute to reset. You need to turn off and unplug the printer for 30 minutes, then plug it back in and power it up. That might reset the printer.

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

My tv won't turn on...the red light indicates that it's plugged in, but everytime i press the power button, i get nothing! can someone help?!

If warranty no longer valid, the first printed circuit board I would investigate is the one with all the aluminum heat sinks on it!!! It's called the "switch mode power-supply" !!! Power supply detects a "fault condition" and goes into "shutdown mode" to save itself from catastrophic component failure!! e.g. smoke, sparks, fire. Same typical failure modes occur in CCFL back-lit lcd computer monitors. You will need to visit YOUTUBE for video clips of "lcd monitor disassembly" and "lcd monitor repair" and after that move up to CCFL lcd tv repair videos to know just what to "LOOK" for on the smps board. Good luck with your unit. 12fixlouie

How to locate fault in case of hardware failure in windows xp professional?

On your Desk top screen, look for MY Computer. Right Click and from drop down box, select Manage.
This will bring up the "Computer Management" screen. Click and select Device Manager. All devices will be displayed on the panel to the right. If a device is nor working properly, you will see an icon with a X or a warning ! sign.
If the device is marked as "functioning properly", then most likely it is NOT a hardware issue.

My PC stopped booting up yesterday. When turning it on, you can hear everything powering up (fans working, hd's going, lights on case and mobo etc) - but after 3-6 seconds it turns itself off. After...

Replace the PCI-E video card. If removing the card causes the system to POST, then it is very likely the card is the fault.

The only concern is CASCADE failure. This occurs when the expansion card damages the slot it is installed in, then when the card is replaced, the slot damages the new card, causing a chain of failures.

You still have a pretty good chance that replacing the video card will resolve without further expense.
