Without the schematic all I can do is go by the general schematic the schematic should be located in the control panel anyway a broken belt will cause the tumbler not to rotate, a bad belt switch, probably not the problem, an open safety thermostat will stop power to the motor, a bad motor of course will cause the problem and lastly a bad relay on the control board will do it, remember I do this everyday so for a DIY it make pose a bit of a problem to know these part locations or how to disassemble the unit

Maytag Neptune dryer model MDG9700 does not heat up. When dryer is on, I can feel very light heat and there is a slight burning odor. Drum spins and dryer appears to work as usual.

Check you flame. If the flame is very short (less than half way down the burner tube, it can be a gas pressure regulator failure. They are adjustable but that usually indicated it is about to fail. Make sure the flame ignites every time you hear the relay and solenoid valve click. The is a small panel on the front that can be removed to see the burner and the pressure regulator. The is a glow igniter that comes on several seconds before the gas is admitted. Confirm that works. Check at the dryer vent whether you smell gas once and a while which would be an indication of a failure to ignite.

Sir/Mam the Drum Motor is failing to turn the drum it self mite be jammed. Not allowing the motor to turn . Remove the drum cartridge. And see if you can turn the drum with your fingers DO NOT TOUCH The color part of the drum turn by both thumbs on the edge of the drum TURN CLOCKWISE if you turn Counter clockwise you will flip the cleaning blade that is not good. The cleaning blade removes the old toner before the new image is placed on the drum if it looks yellow then get a new one and replace it. IF you think the drum is stuck to the cleaning blade then for about a half inch push the drum counter clockwise the then clockwise. Also might remove he drum to see if its jammed. Also the motor might be bad or the circuit board that replaces it.

The dryer drum will not turn, even manually with the belt removed

Sounds like something became wedged against the drum. Maybe a bearing?

Dryer does not start. Drum does not turn by hand. Only makes a sound when switch is turned on.

If it is a sound like a loud hum, the motor is either fried or something is jammed preventing the drum from turning. It could be something like a sock. You just have to open things up and look around carefully, especially around the outside of the drum.

If the noise is a more normal one but the drum is not turning, check that the belt is around the drum and not broken. Some drums are just fairly hard to turn by hand, partcularly if the belt is still around the drum.

Drum will not move

Try to remove drum belt, and then turn drum by hand, if it does not turn , then you have either siezed drum bearigs, or some thing jammed between the inner and outer drum
If drum turns freely, then check motor to see if it is free to turn.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

Drum will not turn.

Sounds like you've got something stuck in between the drum and tub the best way to check is through the heater at the rear of the machine. Could also be the motor or drum bearings have seized if its the drum bearings there's usually brown oil coming from the back of the drum. Take the belt off to see if either the drum or motor can be turned manualy. hope this helps.

Dryer Motor won't always start Model FSE747GES

Too much drag on the Drum. Try lubricating the rollers that the drum turns on. Check the belt tensioner pully...lubricate that as necessary. If Drum still turns very hard after this then take belt off of motor and try turning drum. If drum turns easily then replace motor.
