It might not be the motor. It could be the electronic circuit that powers the motor. I ran into the same problem with a Kwikset electronic deadbolt. I separated the motor from the electronic circuit board and found that the motor was OK. When I couldn't get replacement parts I bought a Master Lock unit. It's not motorized and uses 4 AAA batteries, which last a long time. Kwikset just wants to sell locks, but the same problem exists with Schlage and other brands - including Master Lock. One year warranty on electronics.

SOURCE: I'm using a kwikset smartcode

I have reviewed the installation instructions for the Kwikset 907-11P; here is a link to it:

http://s7d5.scene7.com/is/content/BDHHI/40486-02

I would recommend verifying that the batteries are new and installed correctly. I did not see anything about an insertable/removable battery pack or the need to hold a lock button while changing the batteries. Under normal circumstances there is no need to reprogram the lock codes when batteries are changed.
I did see that if the bolt does not extend when the lock button is pressed that you need to reprogram the handedness of the door (see Step 4.9).
On page 9 of the installation instructions is Troubleshooting tips and a contact number for Kwikset USA :
1-800-327-5625. I'd recommend calling them directly if, after going through the installation instructions, that you have the same problem.
Good luck!

It's a good time to replace the batteries while you're reprogramming. Please review each step carefully, because it's easy to goof up this programming process, if you don't follow the procedure properly.

Good luck!

Let's review the programming steps, in case you are overlooking something. This information was found at this link:
http://s7d5.scene7.com/is/content/BDHHI/kwikset-smartcode

Important before proceeding: 1. Verify that position #2 of the "Settings
Switch" is in the OFF position. (Refer to section 11.) 2. Work with the
door open (away from jamb) to avoid accidental lock out. 3. Make sure
the bolt of latch is in the extended (locked) position

8. Automatic - Bolt Direction Determination (Door Handing).
IMPORTANT: DO NOT SKIP THE FOLLOWING STEP.
LOCK WILL NOT BE ABLE TO OPERATE PROPERLY!
? In the steps below, the SmartCode mechanism automatically determines the "door handing" and sets the proper direction for motor to rotate.

a. Press and hold the "LOCK" button on the exterior keypad, while fully inserting the battery pack into the interior assembly (the tabs on the pack must face out)

b. When the unit begins to operate the bolt, release the "LOCK" button.

c. Do not disturb the unit for approximately 20 seconds until the interior Green LED flashes followed by a beep. During this time the system will drive the bolt several times, will determine "door handing", store data in memory and exit. It is very important that this process is allowed to finish properly.

Proceed with programming your Usercodes per the instructions.

Finally, here is the contact number for Customer Service At Kwikset. Call them if you still have the problem.

SOURCE: What's is the standard preprogramed code for smartcode locks

If there was a standard preprogrammed code for locks, given that there are many people either too lazy or too stupid to reset their own unique lock code, thieves would be having a field day. Therefore, there is no standard preprogrammed lock code, for digital locks or digital safes.

None of the buttons on the device will work. Batteries are fine and blinking light inside appears normal. Cannont lock the device from outside or get the code to unlock the door.

Check to be sure the keypad is still connected to the inside assembly. There is only a one year warranty on the electronics and Kwikset will not sell the electronic parts separately. If you want to replace it, there are other brands that are key-compatible with Kwikset. You'll still have the same problem if the electronics breaks though. The main difference is that other brands don't move the bolt with battery power, they just enable it to be moved by hand.

It is a PDF file format, which requires that you have Adobe Reader installed on your computer to display properly. If you don't have it--http://get.adobe.com/reader/

It is a good time to replace the battery if you haven't done so already! Please carefully follow the programming instructions, because they can be tricky. If you goof up, simply start over.
