After about 30 mins or so the crock pot truned it's self on and started cooking.  Problem solved.  Just wait a little bit.  maybe you might have gotten something wet inside when you were cleaning it like I did.  I think.

Used this once and it worked fine. Used it again, came home - and the food was cooked, but it was stone cold. Tried to use it today and light either blinks or stays solid and no cooking options turn red ... so I keep hitting buttons until HIGH 6 HOURS lights up .... then it actually TURNS ITSELF OFF after about 3 or 4 minutes!!!! I can't cook anything!!! This is crazy! My email is [email protected] if anyone knows what's going on. I think I have a defective unit. PLUS: that day it was stone cold, shouldn't it have switched to WARM and not turned itself off???

I have a similar problem with my 6 qt rival crock pot that I got at Costco. I bought it in 2003 and haven't used it that much. Recently, the unit turns itself off (all the red lights are blinking) after just a few minutes. Usually, I can reset it and it works fine. As I was cooking a big church dinner last week, it totally stopped working. The lights all blinked and I couldn't get the timer set. When I called Rival, I was told that my warranty was up and I'd have to buy a new unit even though I only need the part with the timer on it. The Rival person suggested, this was a safety feature and that there must be something wrong with my power. Hard to believe, but who knows. I tried turning it on a few days later and at least it looked like it was going to work. I may give it a try once again

My Dad is having the same problem, I sent it to him as a gift, he's 86, when he told me he was going to try using his old pressure cooker, so I had Target mail him the same rival one that I have been using for years. He's used it twice, no problem. He just called and the power won't come on just a blinking light. Is there a hidden reset button anywhere? I'm @ work so I don't have the pot here in front of me to look for myself.

MIne is a Crock Pot Smart-Pot and it is behaving the exact same way. It simply tuns itself off, unexpectedly. We got this as an X-Mas gift 2 years ago. Only started using it 2 months ago. I do not think the warranty will cover it. Was there a recall or something? [email protected]

If the unit is left unplugged it takes a number of attempts to get the programming to work. As It gets older it takes longer and longer. I have found by leaving it plugged in for 30 minutes before I attempt to set the cook time cuts down on the number of attempts to get the settings going.

The usual response is that the 4 hour high setting will just flash on then immediately off again. After a number of attempts (up to a hundred or more) the 4 hour setting starts to stay on longer. Eventually the four hour setting stays on and I can cycle to the 6 hour setting. It takes fewer attempts to get this setting to stay on. Similar techniques allow me to eventually cycle through all of the settings. Once this has been done all the settings are accessible with a single push of the cook time button. Be prepared to spend fifteen minutes getting the pot to function properly. I bought two of these units and gave one to my daughter. Her's does the same thing.

Rival, of course deny knowledge of this common problem and suggested I purchase a new pot since this one is out of warranty. Thanks for playing but I will look for another brand the next time!

My 2011 crockpot sccpvp700-s-060 has no lights flashing. It takes about 2 Watts and you can just hear it humming (use a portable AM radio and you can easily hear the interference). The capacitors, transistors, thermister, thyristor triac, resistors, diodes led's tested fine and there's a healthy 5.1v powering the microcontroller. So either the latter has failed or there is a short or open circuit somewhere or I missed a small smd fault. Shame crockpot don’t have circuit diagrams on their website or even sell the electronic modules. It's a shame to throw away a new looking item that 99% works.
Leaving on for 1/2hr or pressing both buttons in for 1 minute didn't do anything.

Rival smart pot 38651 crock pot all light blinking
to reset this you need to hold both thye right and left button for 30 seconds. the cause of this is from unpluging the unit when it is on also a power failure will cause this. if this does not work hold all four buttons in. they only tell you this if you get the right person at Jarden Consumer Solutions

3 lights blinking on my sccpvc709-s

Someone suggested there is moisture under the pot. Use hair dryer to dry it up.
Other suggestion is if you press both the (Low/High/Warm) AND the (Off) buttons at the same time, the controls will revert to the proper state

The instruction manual does not say anything. But you can find the Crock Pot number to call.

I have a Dark Green liner and the outside color is white with green Ivy. The model # is 3745. Mine is cracked, and want to know what the price of a new pot, compared to purchasing a whole new unit?

I actually have that very same crock pot and my dark green crock and solid glass top are in perfect condition, but the electrical cord is starting to tear and expose the wire. I think it's doing this because the cord isn't underneath the unit and is on the very back. Is there anyway to find a new electrical base?? I LOVE my crock pot, especially because it's the perfect size, nice and big for a pot roast. Does anybody want to sell their electrical base? or I'm wondering if should try and sell my dark green crock and glass lid? Is there anyway to buy another electrical base???

Rival Crock Pot Travel locks

I used two pieces of light bungy cord from ACE Hardware and made loops to go from the handles on the crock then around the handle on the top. They stretch so you can't break the cover or crack or mar any surfaces. I made some longer ones for my NESCO. Works like a charm.

It wont heat up and all the lights just keep blinking

I have the same problem EVERY time I want to use the crock pot. My solution has be patience. I find that if I turn it on, and the light blinks, but when i click it it will blink on 4 hours, then go back to the blinking light. By keeping the crock pot plugged in and off for about 10-15 minutes I was then able to set the crockpot up for cooking. As if the capacitors inside the unit needed power stored in them from the wall.
