Left touchpad button stopped working, Aspire 5500

The touchpad is enabled (Fn + F7) and I took out the battery and put it back in. Still nothing.

Touchpad keys can wear out, especially in this acer model. You can contact a laptop repair near you or Acer directly for the replacement part. It's not difficult to replace, but you will have to remove the keyboard and the top half of the case to do so. It's usually only held in place by 1 or 2 screws to the under side of the plastic case.

My touchpad has stoped working on my Acer Aspire 5732 Z

Hello,

Sometimes it differs but you can try pressing FN and F7 together on your keyboard to see if that will enable the touchpad again.FN should be next to your left-ctrl on your laptop keyboard.

On other Acers, there's either a seperate button to enable the touchpad or a different Function key. See on your keyboard the function keys and choose the one that looks like a tochpad, with a pointing hand. Sometimes the icon on the key just looks like a mini-touch-pad.

Touchpad stopped working

Hi,

You may have accidentally turned off the touchpad. To re-enable it just hold down Fn and hit the F7 key to re-enable it.

Acer Aspire 5532 touchpad wont work at all. I had to use a usb mouse to be able to get online.

I just fixed this problem...the fn & f7 didnt work... at the top of computer where you turn the machine off and on - there is a button to the left. Press this button [not the on/off btn] and it should work.

Thanks. The Fn F7 idea did not work, the Enable/Disable toggle in Control Panel made no difference BUT the simple pressing of the TINY finger pointing next to the power button DID work. Duh!

Touchpad doesn't work

Look at your Function keys (F1-F12). There should be a icon of a touchpad or something similar on one of the keys. Most likely it is F7.

If you can find it, press the Function button (FN, next to CTRL) and F7 (or whatever key designates the touchpad), and see if this enables it.

If not, go to your control panel and click mouse properties. THere may be a tab for the touchpad where you can enable/disable it.
