Due to the rack and pinion steering one wheel turns slightly further than the other so on full lock it is at its greatest difference so when moving slowly there will be some side ways movement, how long do you drive with full lock on as i cant see how other than parking this would be needed

2006 Hummer h3 ...it only shows 3 positions for the 4x4 a 4with a up arrow a 4 high with a lock and a 4 low with a lock does this mean the vehicle is always in 4wheel drive

The Borg Warner (BW) model 4493/4494 NR4 transfer case is a 2-speed, full-time 4WD, transfer case. The transfer case has an external planetary type differential, which has 2 different sets of pinion gears. The planetary differential provides a 40/60 torque split front/rear full-time. This means the front and rear propeller shafts are constantly being driven for maximum traction in all conditions. A high/low planetary carrier assembly provides the high and low ranges, which is a 6-pinion gear, sun gear, and annulus gear arrangement, giving a 2.64 low range reduction ratio in the BW 4493 and a 4:1 ratio in the BW 4494.

Loud noise when power steering is on full lock Kia Sedona 2004

There may be 2 possible causes for this problem. THe first may be cv koints failing or excessive turn angle of the wheel which would be binding up the cv joint. This can be checked by a wheel aligner testing the maximum turn allowed at the wheels.. The second is that power steering pumps should never be operated at tight full turn. To umnderstand this consider this. Power steering pumps are only under load when you move the steering wheel ans if you turn a bit the pump moves the wheels and then the pressure is let off until you move the wheel again. You have to move the wheel to shut off a valve in the box that allows the pump to build up pressure. When you hold the wheel hard against the stops at full turn you are making the pump work at maximum pressure and if you continue to do this you can expect premature pump failure. Jusat turn until you hit the stops then ease off a fraction. The noise I expect is the pressure relief valve in the pump is releasing rapidly and it probably sounds like a hammer hitting something metalic. Try the alignment and try not holding the turn hard at hard full turn. Haveing the pump pressure checked might also point to a fault

What is causing the problem. The crabs run fine

If you've found a hermit crab on a beach or in the shallow waters of the Gulf of Mexico, there's a good chance it is a striped hermit crab (Clibanarius vittatus) or a close relative in the Clibanarius family. These hardy crabs can live for several days out of water, but they are not land crabs. If you already have a warm water marine tank, you can add your hermits and let them be a "cleaner crew" eating any food that hits the bottom of the tank. Otherwise, you will need to replicate a subtropical marine ecosystem.

  • Set up a tropical saltwater aquarium. Striped hermit crabs can grow up to 10 centimeters, so a 20-gallon tank or larger is good for one or two crabs. They need a deep sand bed in which to bury themselves when they molt, and will do well with some live rock for climbing and hiding places. They need filtration, a hang-on-back or canister filter is fine for a crab-only tank. Aim for a water temperature of 78 F with a pH close to 8.0 and a salinity between 1.024 and 1.027. Make sure your tank is properly cycled (has run for at least a week without animals to build up beneficial bacteria) before adding crabs.

  • 2

Feed your crabs a variety of food. Alternate between sinking pellets and thawed frozen baitfish and shrimp, brine or krill. Feed two to three times daily in small amounts. They may also munch on algae growing naturally in the tank, or you can offer seaweed wafers or sheets. In the wild, they are opportunistic scavengers and in captivity will accept most aquarium-safe foods.

  • 3

Add an assortment of clean, aquarium-safe seashells. The crab will move into slightly larger shells as it molts and gets bigger, so most of the shells should be slightly larger. It is not uncommon for a crab to decide to move into a slightly smaller shell on occasion, so provide a few of these as well.

Heater & cooling fan only works on high.Power locks don't work.

there is a resistor for the heating and cooling fan speed. this controls the amount of voltage to your fan, which controls the speed. usually when the fan only works on high it will bypass the resistor and use the full 12 volts for the high setting. your power locks might be part of this circuit. i would check the resistor first then check the locks. usually the resistor is behind the high low switch

1998 Honda CR-V makes low pitched shuddering or growling noise intermittently when turning sharp right or left at very low speeds.

YOU should find that if you let off the turn a bit and not turn on hard full lock,, now do this stopped and someone sitting in the drivers seat and bonnet open and turning the steering wheel with engine running in idle
if the noise goes and the shuddering goes then its the powered steering pump is either low in fluid or airrating or if belt driven then see if belt is trying to stop on full lock and if it is then try a new belt or other wise its the pump faulty.
