Sharp XG-E650UB LCD Projector

Absolutely, they are designed to do so. You will need a svideo cable for video if your laptop doesn't have a parallel port for external monitor. Most projectors have svideo and parallel ports to use them as monitors. If using the external monitor option you select the alt/enter buttons to display on projector.

Is my averatec laptop motherboard died?

tony,
try to shine a flashlight at the screen while it boots and see if you see anything at all. if you do, your backlight has gone out and you will need to replace the lcd screen. if you get nothing try plugging in an external monitor to the port on the side of the laptop, if you get something on it, then you need the lcd replaced. if you get no beeps indicating failed hardware then there is a good chance that your motherboard has a more serious issue if no screens are coming up.

Dc power jack not charging

Even though the best thing you should have just done is to take along with you the AC Power Adapter that came with it, so as to get the exact replacement, but I will still tell you the best one for your PC.
Try and Make sure that the specifications for the one you will buy meets the this output power rating :
DC Voltage : 20V
The Current should be : 3.0A.
Product Number : 76-011651-5A

Hope this helps you out.
Goodluck!
