Question about Nikon Coolpix 4600 Digital Camera
I'd really appreciate if you could help me.
The buttons of my Coolpix 4600 stop working after some minutes I've turned on my camera. The display works perfectly well.
Thanks for your time!

Bad news is that it is CCD sensor that seems faulty ( and only way to repair this fault is to replace the CCD block ) but the good news is that Nikon repairs this problem free of charge on this model even if your warranty has expired. Contact Nikon and have a new CCD sensor installed.

No firmware upgrade available yet, but did you set the camera settings to the TYPE of battery you are using? Go to Setup, chose Battery, then set type - alkaline, lith, metal hyd, etc and see if that helps.

SOURCE: No audio with coolpix 4600.
1.it may be a cable fault change the av cable,
before changing the cable check it out on another camera
2.the microphone holes may be clogged (use a rubber blower to blow away the dust)
3.initialiaze the camera (set up mode)
hope this helps

With the lens facing downward, hit the camera a sharp tap against the palm of the hand whilst simultaneously turning the camera 'ON'. If that fails, tap against a stiffer surface (desk or table), allowing room for the lens to extend and taking care not to damage the body of the camera.
