I have the above dishwashing machine and need a new heating element and have been checking out new/used elements for sale on the web. There seems to be at least three different elements for the G590SC listed as follows: 1) Element (referred to as the "Outermost Heating Element") - 2000W/230V. 2) Element (referred to as the "Innermost Heating Element"- 2400W/400V dishwasher. 3) 2700W element. In my case, the heating element I need to replace is at the bottom of the dishwasher. It runs around the bottom of the machine underneath the spinning water sprayer. If it helps, I live in Toronto, Canada so maybe the electric specs are relevant. How do I know which element suits my dishwasher? Could you please let me know. Thanks,
Sorry - may seem odd - but your hot water tank is set to 120 or higher yes ? so why are you re-heating you water? - if you want to know you need the 2000w /230v - but really turn the re heat off - at 120 you kill the bacteria and will save $$
sorry - you are correct dishwashers here are 120v - so niether will work you will have to order one - good luck on that - miele dw parts are not easy to find on line - i did find a teck manual for youhttp://www.mieleservice.com/techservice_... - i thought i saw a test/reboot in it

Thanks.
SOURCE: Miele G661 Dishwasher heating element
Loosen element-retaining bolt plus clips in dishwash chamber. Upend machine and take base off (held by four crosshead screws). Disconnect spade connectors from end of element and gently tap/push old rubber block through. Element will drop out with retaining rubber.

hi,
you would have to turn the unit on it's side and remove the bottom plate and check with a multi meter the resistance of the heating element to see if the heating element is defective. i doubt the dishwashing liquid caused a fault other than causing the unit to over sud and spill water into the base. You could remove the panel under the door and have a look and see if you have flooded the base. if you have a float switch in the base (white polystyrene disc and switch) this will stop the unit from working as well. dry up any water and try it again. hope this helps and don't use the dishwashing liquid in the unit.
Hi,
I have an older dishwasher also and recently my wife also complained about it not cleaning right... so me being the man I am tried in vain to clean the things... Bought new spray arms online and installed them in minutes...now the thing works like new... However I have also found that if the heating element goes bad then that also can mess things up bad... So I would buy new spray arms, and also check out the heating element to make sure it is working... Here is a tip that will help you with the online buying...

Thanks. Just to be clear though, my element is burnt and you can see the burnout right on the element. The repairman told me this is why the machine won't stop running as it gets stuck somewhere in the cycle. My user manual states the power supply as 120V, 60 Hz, 1-phase, the rated load is 1.5 kW and the fuse rating is 15A. My question is which replacement element (and maybe there is more than one) will fix this problem? Thanks again.
Thanks for the manual. I have been searching like mad to find someone in NA who would have spare Miele parts, but am incredibly frustrated because I can't seem to find anyone. I am sure this cannot be the case, however. Any advice as to where to go? Somebody must be collecting parts! Thanks,
john i spent 4 hours searching for just the part - but i did find out that bosch and miele have compatible part - hope this helps - if you have a part number your search takes less time
