If you've got the V6 you need the "V6 Supplement" which is eighty something dollars more.
Interestingly, the owners manual (that covers both the V6 & V8) says nothing about the Electrical manual but does point out the V6 supplement (without mentioning that it's a V6 supplent only).
disconnect cable connection at throttle body by loosening retaining nut and removing cable from attachment. follow cable to firewall and disconnect cable from fire wall a rubber grommet may need to be removed with a flat blade screwdriver and gentle pressure. under dashboard, at top of gas pedal, cable is attached by clip, disconnect. and pull cable through and into vehicle. reasembly is reverse. when connecting to throttle assembly make sure there is about one quarter inch slack in cable.
Hi Seanmcm21,
More than likely the low idle you are experiencing is caused by a dirty IAC valve located right under the throttle body itself. It needs to be cleaned out with carb cleaner. Remove the electrical connector, the two vacuum hoses, and two screws. To put it back, use a little sealant to seal it before screwing it back together but do not get the sealant inside the IAC valve. If this 4 Runner is a V6, you may need to replace the spark plugs if old. Make sure to purchase twin electrode NGK or Denso spark plugs and gap them to .043 with a gapper.
check the various throttle controlls. there should be a grey box with an unusual nut on it. have a car guy look it over. the vehicle will have a cold-start high idle for a few minutes before selling down if it's a V6.
If V6 camry, remove air duct on the throttle body and spray solvent (carby/ throttle body cleaner) down the opening just before the actuall throttle blade, be generous
