1st You download Webcam Driver.

After this install the Webcam driver in the system.
Installation of Webcam Driver
Go to the control panel
Click on the System Icon
Click on the Hardware Tab
Click on the Device Manager s
Select the Unknown Device or printer device where yellow Question Marks sign on it.
Right click on it and uninstall it.
After this go to the top of the device manager and click on scan for hardware changes.
Driver installation Wizard start.
Brows Your Driver from the Hard Disk and click on next.
Driver will be install.

What model of webcam do you have? If it is a Logitech webcam, you can try to browse through the pages of pictures here: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/support-downloads/downloads/webcams

It will direct you on where to find your driver.

Go in webcam prefferemce and watch is there any sleep or standby time made for your webcam . if yes then change it and put the time as you like .

check your webcam specs if it is compatible with your os, try to reinstall the webcam driver then restart your computer

If the laptop is new it will be under waranty. Did the shop you purchased the laptop from install the webcam? If so let them fix the problem, if not you may still have to take it back to them to get it installed properly, otherwise you may void the waranty.
