This may be a power supply failure. The set would have to be troubleshooted to determine the exact cause, failed parts, and replace them. It is also possible that there is a short somewhere else that caused the power supply to shut down or be damaged.

Hi.
Random shut down can be caused by faulty power adapter, faulty inverter and faulty controller board, add buttons, shorts, bad fan and IR sensor.
The TV must be tested to find out the problem.
I suggest contacting Sanyo by calling the number listed on the owners manual.
Parts and part price available here.
SOURCE: 3 YEAR OLD SANYO DP 32746. SHUT ITSELF OFF, CAN NOT TURN BACK ON
If you leave the tv unplugged for 2 days (atleast) then plug it back in and try to turn it on and if it comes on its the power supply board. If it comes back on it will probably shut off between 30min to 4hrs and you would have to unplug it for 2 days again. All the power needs to drain out of the tv. If thats the case take the back pannel off and check the part number out on the internet. Not hard to do becarefull touching things the power supply does store a little bit or shock in it. Good Luck.
Testimonial: "while we did not unplug the set, we let it sit for 2 days and we were able to turn it on by the remote & manually....does that still sound like P/S"
