I use one universal charger (GP) for 4 different Photo Camera's and one video camera. All batteries are charged correct. On my charger I need to set the contact points correct for the different batteries, but after I put one on the chatter it becomes charged in a few hours. (I don't need to look for voltage nor for where the plus and minus go.
My advice? Google for universal battery charger for camera's and buy one. I think the charger will serve your next camera too.
I found chargers and batteries for this camera by searching Amazon for "polaroid t831". There are also cheap universal chargers that will charge any small camera or phone battery, like THIS ONE
From what you say I imagine this is built into the case with no opening to allow removal.
So that it is recharged in situ.
It that right.
If so Polaroid is the only place to go- unless you can open up the camera to see what the battery is like.
I imagine that in fact it can only be a standard type of battery but perhaps modified to fit he Polaroid housing.
Have you actually checked Polaroid Tech Support Team re this
