Not starting I bought this TV as a refurbished item 4 years ago. It was working fine until recently. When I turn it on, the Vizio logo no longer shows and the screen stays lit (but black/purple in color) and the buttons don't work. I actually bought a new board (the one the power goes to) and it has the same problem. Is there anything else I can do?

SOURCE: Vizio GV42L LCD TV screen black when turn TV on first time

If you are using a set top box this might be caused by turnig the box on at the same tie as you turn the tv on or slightly after you turn the tv on.  If you are using compnent or HDMI inputs the set needs to see the signal as it is turned on to know what formt the signal is in.

SOURCE: 47" vizio died

Very high failure rate on this brand. Even after repair, something else will fail. Cut your losses and buy a brand name set.

SOURCE: Vizio VX42L LCD TV died?

it is the power supply. in the given scenario like yours, the PSU is the suspect in 90% of the cases.

VIZIO E500i-B1 broke again a month after replacing the power board. Having similar issue

You might want to check the VIZIO website for help. Given how cheap even 4K UHD TV's are today, probably not worth fixing again. Unless under warranty, of course.

Main or power board TV failure?

Sounds like a mainboard/Digital board. Might be the panel too. Vizio makes substandard TVs and they tend to fail very easily. As much as I like to see devices repaired, this one may not be worth your hassle. Power problems caused by lightening can be the most damaging. You may even need both power and digital boards to repair it. I would buy boards from someone who will take them back in case the panel failed too.

I have a Vizio 37" HDTV that recently started losing the picture. The sound has been on continually but the picture now flashes steadily but mostly remains black. It went out one day, came back afte

it sounds like a backlight issue. It could be as simple as a few bad caacitors. If you already replaced the set and you just want $$$ toss it on your local Craigslist as a parts/repair set. There's always TV shop owner and parts scavangers that will buy the set as is. Price wise, if the set is in good condition and come with remote, and pedestal, I would ask $60 as is but you may get more

DTV signal will not come up on start up but after warm up

Was just the DTV card replaced only or the mainboard? Replacing the entire mainboard should do the trick.
