Corel draw 8 is not save as pdf? - Corel Draw 8

Corel Draw creates a backup file of your drawings in case of unexpected software crashes. Crashes can occur as a result of a too many programs running at once, or a computer overheating. The backup file has an extension and is created to help you cdr corel draw files repair or lost files.

In order to save files as a PDF natively on your machine, you need to purchase Adobe Acrobat software.

Some alternatives are Microsoft Office & Corel Draw

1.) Did you paste the fonts into a text box in Corel? Sometimes this works better than importing.
2.) try to copy all of the text from Word and then paste into a text box in Corel
3.)Make sure you answer yes to the "maintain fonts and formatting" question when pasting text into text box in Corel
4.) After pasting text, Save the Corel file!

I have seen this under XP SP3. The following solved the problem for me.

Install Corel 8 from the CD. Reboot.

Get the 369 and 433 upgrades from the Corel FTP site. (Those upgrades are no longer available on the web site, but there is a pointer to the FTP site on the "Updates and Patches" page).

Apply the 369 patches. Doesnt matter what version the CD is -- the patches check to see if they need to be applied. Reboot.

Apply the 433 patches. Reboot.

Start the XP Compatibility tool. Make the settings for PhotoPaint and Draw "Windows 2000", "No XP Themes." Reboot

Just an idea: do you create your document in RGB mode or CMYK? Did you reinstal corel?
