Right! However I don't want to do internet and download, or is that the only way to save at the point of the game where one switches off?

Go to www.playstation.com and select your country, then select PSP. You can find all kinds of instructions for how to do Internet, download and a whole lot more.

I upgraded my psp 2006 from 5.00 m33-6 to version 5.50. Now it does not detect the games saved in my memory stick. What should i do?

Are you trying to play the game from the memory stick? Or are you trying to play a game from the UMD and retrieve the saved game data from the memory stick?

5.00 m33 is a custom firmware that allows the PSP to play games stored on a memory stick. If you upgrade to 5.50, which is an original Sony firmware, that functionality will go away. If you have custom firmware, you should never upgrade it or the features like playing homebrew or loading games from a memory stick will go away.

My psp doesnt play games

If you have custom firmware, make sure your "execute boot.bin" and "plain modules" are both disabled under your advanced configuration settings of the recovery menu. Also, make sure your ISO/CSO games are saved in the ISO Folder of your memory stick and that your UMD MODE is set to NO UMD REQUIRED. Your PBP Games should be saved in your PSP/GAME Folder.

Cannot get games to play-where is the "OASS Button"?

Try this:

1) You must first backup ur data on your memory stick to your PC. Mainly the saved games data. ( directory is PSP\SAVEDATA) 2) Format the memory stick using the PSP format tool in system settings...not your PC. 3) In System Setting UNCHECK or UNSELECT "UMD Cache" this must be off!!!! 4) Connect your psp via USB cable 5) Copy your game saves / data back to your psp remember >> PSP\SAVEDATA . 6) Do a hard reboot of your psp ie hold the power switch for 3 seconds and it will reboot. 7) Your UMD games should now work with no probs.

This is not my solution, just a solution found on a messge board from others having the same problem

PSP saving game

First to have games on your psp you have to have a program on your psp called umd dumper. you can find it on google by typing umd dumper and clicking on the first choice that comes up and then dowloading it.( before you continue here you must make sure your psp is downgraded, atleast vesion 3.11 or lower thats what i have. go to the file where you saved your download, double click and extract all the files from it. now connect your psp to your computer. now go to your downloaded folder and find two folder called umd dumper %%%%, copy and paste those to files on your psp that is still connected to your computer on a file called psp. now diconnect your psp and go to your game section on your psp and click on memorystick you might find two folders, umd dumper and corrupter file or just umd dumper, dont pay attention to the corrupted file. put a game in your psp and click the umd dumper, it will automatically start extracting files from your umd and put it on your memory stick ( make sure you have enough space on your memory stick depending on the game) after its done now connect the psp back to the computer and this time you will notice a new file with a umd picture on your folder, drag the umd folder and drop it in a folder called ISO, if you dont have a folder called ISO look on the internet on how you can get on on your psp. now when you are done diconnect it and go to your games section and on your memory stick you will have the game you just extracted. click on it and enjoy your game onyour memory stick..( if this information is not accurate enough you can go to, youtube.com and type umd dumper and watch some of the videos on there one of them might give you a better understanding)

PSP will not play games

What do you mean?

UMDs or Games saved in the Memory Stick?

If UMDs, your UMDs are scratched or the PSPs UMD Reader is damaged.

Games in Memory Stick, I don't know....

But if you play games and the PSP automatically enters the Home button, it's a virus. Fix it or Back up your PSP Files, and Reformat the Stick...

Psp not saving or loading

Hi Spazza2,

Did yout try using the same UMD game your brother was using and see if the game format has anything to do with it?  Since you upgraded, the UMD game may be old, and might not work with Version 3.71. It sounds like your PSP is working just  fine other than that.

Sony psp

If you tried to delete the save game from the memory stick and it's not letting you. Copy what you need off of the memory stick to your PC via the usb cable and reformat your memory stick.
