SOURCE: Aqualink Chlorine Generator not producing any chlorine

It shounds like that you might have a mustard algae issue. It feeds on chlorine. It is possible that your unit is producing chlorine but the algae is consuming it as fast as it can be made. You will need to do a shock treatment and use an Algae 30. It could be something else, but this is likely. You can google mustard algate treatments and read up on it to see if you have other symptoms.

Jandy Hand held reads the wrong wrong pool temperatrure

the chlorine generator is giving you a correct readout of your pool temp. however, your water temp sensor is bad. if you look at your filter pump, follow the pipe coming from the top of the pipe, until you see a metal clamp. withthe system off, remove the clamp and pul out the sensor from the pipe and replace with a new 10k ohm temp sensor. NOTE: Older Jandy systems used black temp sensors, the new sensor may be slightly larger. use a masonry drill bit to bevel the old hole out for the new sensor, and replace the wires.

I have a jandy pda and have no idea what the message that its displaying means. This is our first pool and the owners manual has not helped! It says aqua pure 100% salt 4500 ppm, check aqua pure high salt...

it is showing your status aqua pure is set at 100% salt is at 4500 parts per million which is too high to operate should be between 2700 and 3400 to work properly you need to drain some water out and add fresh to dilute the salt general fault is because salt level is too high it is showing your filter pump and extra aux is on go to the equipment on on main screen it will give you a list of all your equipment any questions send me more info

My remote shows aqua pure as a general default. I have cleaned cell but it did not change. System is not creating clorine.

In this case I would call the Jandy technical support. If it says it is in general fault then it means it will not generate chlorine. I hope this helps.

2 problems one a reading of general fault the

How are you increasing the orp if not with chlorine?
ORP is not a direct chlorine reading and can be misread for a number of reasons, if your alkalinity, ph, cyanuric acid, or TDS levels are out of control, the ORP reading on any controller will be mute. These controllers manage ph and chlorine only (typically), but all the other chemicals and water treatment rules still need to be handles by the user.

It is also possible that your orp probe has gone bad. The most important thing to have dialed in is the pH, otherwise you will never get a correct ORP reading, as they are only accurate when in between 7.2-7.8 pH value.

Also, if you cant raise the pH above .5 no matter how much chlorine you add, you might just have old contaminated water, if the TDS and the CYA are extremely high, you will see this scenario.
