I had bought a nikon coolpix L3 digital camera on 12/09/06 from an authorised dealer here in mumbai with a warranty of 2 yrs. there was lens error and i went to the same dealer and asked for replacement.he told the lens would have to be changed and this part does not come under warranty. so we told him to get it changed and we would pay the cost. now he has changed the part and asks for Rs 3000/- and denies to give back the damaged part.
can u please help me find out as to whether the lens comes under warranty and also what steps can i take to get back the damaged part.
If the camera was new, yes it should be covered by the warranty that comes with the camera. However if it is used, then all bets are off, and it will depend on the person and or dealer you bought it from. I don't know your exchange rate, but if it is too costly, then it will be between you and the dealer. If you asked him to fix it with an open ended deal, then you should pay the repairs.
However, the lens is the most easily damaged part of the camera, in most cases. And if the user used it in such a way as to cause damage to the lens, then the user should pay.

Not to worrry, the possible fault is with the failure of your flash unit. This unit is embedded into the camera and is a very arrangement which is not advisable to be opened by anyone less experienced. The best solution is to get the camera serrviced at the NIkon authorised service centre which is in Mumbai. You can get the exact address from any dealer who is selling the Nikon cameras. Get an estimate before you can give it for service as sometimes the woork may get very expensive.(web search for Nikon service centres in Mumbai -India) If you are choosing any local serivce centre be very careful not to get it tampered for total failure. Otherwise after your review decide on the job or use the camera as far as possible in daylight or you can use good lighting when shooting. Good day
The movie should be transferred automatically when you transfer the images from the sd card. There should be a folder where the pics are transferred, usually through a program called Picture Project. Look for an icon with the Quicktime logo on it or a movie logo. That should be it.
