Toshiba Satellite 105A speakers/volume

I cannot figure out how to get sound on my Satellite 105A laptop.  There are media controls on the left side of the keyboard, but no instructions.  I have tried the volume settings in the Master volume window, but that does not work, either.  I have Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.

There is a dial on the front of the computer below and right of the mouse pad. It is right next to the headphone plugs. That controls the volume.

My laptop is playing sound at a very low level. All the volume controls are turned up to the max, but I can barely hear anything through the built-in speakers or through earbuds. Toshiba Satellite A101...

Usually what happens hear is that a program such as media player or a dvd player will have its volume turned down and that overides the overall volume.

The trick is finding it. You need to open up any and all programs you have used with some kind of volume control and check they are turned up then close them.

You will never get super loud sound on your speakers but they should be easily heard. I've run across this on both my tosh laptop and a desktop.

My laptop's built in speakers volume is full but

I am assuming you are using some version of Windows here; in the taskbar (by the clock) you will see the audio control-it looks like a loudspeaker. Left click it and the a volume control will open.

How do I turn the volume up and down on a Toshiba

Check the front for a volume control wheel next to the headphones socket or left-click on the speaker icon on the task bar and adjust the volume via the slider.

I can't hear sound from my laptop even with the builtin speakers. It's a Toshiba Satellite A105-S4064.

On the front of the laptop there is a circular knob, play a music cd and then turn the knob from left to right and see if the sound comes back, if that doesn't work then make sure where the speaker is in the bottom right hand side of the screen click on it and make sure the volume is turned up.

If it still doesn't work then reload the sound drivers. At this point if the sound still won't work then that means that either the speakers or the motherboard is bad and you won't know for sure unless you replace the speakers first.

Hi I lost the volume in my toshiba and even using "help and support" it does not work. How can i re-install it?

Ok now you need to call up ether the sound card application or preferably the windows volume control from the bottom toolbar.

Click Open Volume Control.

A box with sliders in should appear. make sure that volume control, wave, sw synth, aux, cd player, line in
are all about half way and that none of them have ticks in the box at the bottom.

If any of those are missing click options then properties from the top left and put a tick besides any that were missing (nothing else)
Now close the slider box.

Put a normal music cd in your cd/dvd player on the computer and set it to play with windows media player.
You should now have sound out of the speakers.

Double check that EVERYTHING is ok.
If there is still no sound check the control panle for any hardware issues and rectify those with the correct drivers

Loud Beep on media control panels volume buttons.

I had the same problem. They sure make it tough for you, don't they? Urgh... it was annoying. Anyway, this is what fixed it for me, a solution from another site:

In the control panel, under sounds. Go to the speaker properties, and then the levels tab and mute the computer beep level.
