In the rules, you will need to create a new rule that allows your VPN subnets access to you office LAN, and then on your office network gateway, add a route for your VPN subnet pointing back to your checkpoint firewall.

Your Cisco VPN client may or may not allow you to share the connectkion with other computers on your network. In Windows when you create a VPN connection you are able to go to the Avanced tab of the connection and place a check mark in "Allow other network users to connec through this computers internet connection"

Although you will need to bare in mind that the reason that the IT guy is not able to give you answer is because he has not idea what the wireless IP architecture is on the other end without you giving him this information. Also the most common error from poin to point on a VPN connection is IP conflicts from one network device on each side of the LAN. These types of conflict can take out the enire Campus depending on the level of security they have onsite.

Hope this helps

Error code 807 on printer display (not on computer)

  • The network connection between your computer and the VPN server was interrupted. This can be caused by a problem in the VPN transmission and is commonly the result of internet latency or simply that your VPN server has reached capacity.

    I know that the issue does not occur on other computers. Please let us know if all of the other computers are Windows XP computers, or Windows Vista computers are included. Also please let us know if the computers are in a same domain or network.

    I suggest that you temporary disable the anti-virus and firewall. Then, try to connect to the VPN again. If the issue persists, I suggest that you temporary bypass the router, and try to connect. If the issue does not occur, there are some settings on the router cause this issue.

Conflict with partner network detected.

Default password is "1234".

You need to set up a subnet that is different than the subnet your vpn is connecting to.

For instance, default on the 334is: SO the router will have an IP of Because of the error, the other network has that same subnet (

And that router probably has the same IP as your router (

So one of the networks needs to change. You could just change the IP on one Network to: and the IP of the router to

I would change them both though, so this doesnt happen again.

Cannot connect to SonicWall VPN

My guess is that dhcp is using the same private network scheme. Try changing your home network scheme to something different than your office.
For example:
Office = 192.168.1.x
home = 192.168.2.x

Can't connect to AT&T VPN

I'll need to know what router you're using, make and model, for more specific help, but sometimes there is an option for IPSec passthrough. For example, on my Linksys Wireless Router WRT54G, there is a set of buttons under Security/VPN that are entitled IPSec Passthrough, PPTP Passthrough, and L2TP Passthrough. Since I don't know what router you're using, I can't tell you wether or not your router supports such functions or not, but if it does, you need to enable them.

Vpn error. 800

Resolutions: 1) if you have firewall, open TCP Port 1723, IP Protocol 47 (GRE). 2) make sure you can reach the VPN server by using ping. Sometimes, poor connection can cause this issue too. 3) You may need to updated firmware on a router or firewall if other OS (win9x/nt/me/w2k) works except XP. 4) The VPN server may not be able to get IP from DHCP for the VPN client. So, you may want to re-configure VPN host networking settings. For XP pro VPN host, go to the Properties of the VPN>Network, check Specify TCP/IP address and Allow calling computer to specify its own IP address, and uncheck Assign TCP/IP addresses automatically using DHCP. 5) Make sure no other secure software blocks your access, for example, if you use Norton secure software, you may need to add the remote client's IP so that the client can access. 6) If your VPN running on a Windows RRAS with NAT enabled, you may want to check the NAT settings. 7) If you can establish the VPN from the desktop at home but not from the laptop. Make sure no security software like Microsoft OneCare software that blocks the GRE.
