SOURCE: I changed batteriers and now I can't get a reading

I believe they ask you to press the reset button on the main unit first, but that may not be your problem. Double check the batteries to make sure they are installed correctly. If one of the batteries in the outdoor sending unit is in backwards, it will not send the outdoor data. On the indoor unit, there is typically one battery that is used for receiving the signal from the outdoor unit. If all of the batteries are in correctly but that one, you will see the display and the indoor temperature information, but the outdoor information will not be displayed. Also, make sure the units are close enough to transmit.

Hi I changed the battery in my heat pump remote now it doesn't work and I tried resetting it but the mode button doesn't change nor can I get the time on it

Cut the power to the unit at the breaker for 2 hours. Remove the remote batteries at the same time. Put brand new batteries from a new packet into the remote after the 2 hours. Turn the power back on to the unit and wait 15 minutes for the self test procedure to complete.

How to stop kiddie smoke alarm from chirping

Those units have an end of life alarm and if the battery is good, you have to replace the whole things. They last about 7 to 10 years.

It keeps showing Err. We've changed the battery and it still keeps showing that.

Try cleaning the interior of the unit with canned compressed air with the straw nozzle attached. After you have removed the battery. It may have a dust and lint buildup in it. Wait about 10 minutes, then take it outside (if it's above freezing) plug in the battery and see if you get the same Error Code.

If you do, then the unit is malfunctioning. You should contact Kidde Technical Service 877-877-7050 for further instructions. The may want you to return it for repair or replacement. Have the Model Number in hand when you call.

Hope this helps solve your problem.

Changed batteries and the outside temperature still does not show

Bring the outside sensor inside. Take the batteries out of the sensor and out of the main unit. Wait 10 minutes. Put the batteries back in the remote sensor. Put the batteries back in the main unit. Do not touch any of the buttons. Wait 10 minutes. If the remote temperature is not showing within 10 minutes, try again. Once the remote temperature is showing, you can set the clock.
