I have 2 12 inch jl audio w7's with a kicker crossover and a powerbass equalizer 5 bands. i wanted to know if add a hifonics brutus 2100 d class amp to my subs at 1 ohm would it over power my subs. please...

Short answer: NOPE!

The Hifonics Brutus 2100 is stated to produce 2100 watts RMS @ 1ohm load. Most amplifier manufacturers overstate their claims. The 2100 watt output is most likely at 14.4 volts and not the 12.6 volts your car will actually be providing the amp.

But, even if the actual output was 2100 watts that would be 1050 watts to each 12w7. The 12w7's are rated at 1000watts RMS and 2000watts peak. As a MECP certified installer, any system I have done using 12w7's have had a MINIMUM of 1000 watts being provided to each speaker. My personal preference is to run 1500 watts each and keep the gains adjusted lower on the amp. Thus allowing the amp to run cooler and allow the additional headroom for those "show-off" moments!

The amp turns on but doesnt put sound out

Disconnect all speaker connections and rca cables. Leave power, ground and remote wires intact. Try turning on again. If you still have a protection light your amp is faulty. Hopefully you have warranty. Double check all connections. Send back ri factory for best repairs.
A thumbs up would be greatly appreciated if this answer is helpful to you.

I hooked my Hifonics BXi 1610 Brutus series amplifier up to my 2 12" Kicker Solo Baric L7 subs. Everything turns on on the amp but its barely pushing my subs. Ive tried tuning it and it still doesn't push...

wire the subs if thair dual 4 ohm . in parallel. red to red and black to black. giving it a 2ohm load. do the other sub the same. and conect it on the amp . turn your gain about 12oclock and db level less than 12oclock and your frequnecy around 80-100. and that should work

I have 2 kenwood 3011 400 watts rms and 12oowatts peak power each 1 is blown and wonderin about upgrading 2 the Hifonic Olympus OLM1612 would this be a good upgrade even thought i only a 400 watt kicker...

yea for sure thats a good upgrade. You shouldnt havebeen able to blow the kenwoods with 400 watts though-meaning that they probably blew from distortion which causes heat(fast) Check your gain on the amp start it out at 1/4 gain and turn up your deck to the point where you can hear distortion from your mids and highs or to the maximum level that you listen to your music at. If you're jamming out at a level that is causing distortion then you will be sending a distorted signal to the amp as well. The amp then amplifies the distorted signal through the subs which overheat and blow. So find the distortion spot and then turn it down just a little bit till it clears up your sound-then adjust your gain on the amp up slowly until you cant hear it getting any louder. Once you have done that you have reached the limit of CLEAN power that you are going to get.Thats where you want to keep it. Watch the bass boost too if you have the bass up on the deck and then crank up the bass boost on the amp it really f's up the signal too. Good luck

Hifonics BXI 1606D problems

it may be a wiring problem you need to make sure all the speaker positives and negatives are correct. I sell alot of hifonics amps and have never had 1 do that. it may also be a bad rca cable. if it only does it when you use the filter i would say not to use it also make sure the gain is no more than 3/4 turned up and the bass boost no more than 1/2. if you have a dif amp try a temp setup using it and if it still does it its a wiring issue. also try 1 speaker at a time on the hifonics and keep adding 1 till it comes back it may be a bad voice coil on 1 sub .

Brutus 1206D

set the lp filter to about 100 to 125 (or lower if want seep boomy only) , put the bass eq no more than 75% but i would recommend no more than 50%, gain is to match the sound not to adjust power with so it is a user preference start all the way down and slowly go up till u hear distortion then turn it back down by about 10 - 15 %, phase shoild typically be at 0 degrees, subsonic depends on if you r using sealed or ported ported turn it all the way down then adjust as needed to get rid of the lower sounds you dont want (muddy sloppy sounding bass) if sealed turn it all the way up to at least 35 hz.

Setting low pass and bass eq

Hello, i have a hifonics brutus also, in the manual it states to set the eq at half way, so that there is no clipping or at least to prevent clipping , the eq will make the bass punchier, if you do go pass half way, i would recommend to readjust your gain settings, also check your head unit settings and make sure everything is flat, bass, mid bass etc. example i had my eq past half but i had my gain at mid way, it was hitting hard, then i tried turning the eq all the way down and the turning up the gain and the bass was smoother so it depends where you set it, and what settings you have on your head unit tone control (bass, treble etc)
